According to Steeler Depot Matthew Slater is coming through today. Would replace Golden on ST.

And a bunch of you posters were trying to say that the Steelers were not active players in this here thing called..... Free Agency.

He would replace Golden on special teams. Little surprised due to his age and health status.

You forgot "Slater" on Saved By the Bell

Salute the nation

we should call Preston brown. we know we can have timmons back at vet min even if we wait until a week before the draft.

You could sign one of the best DB's in the league to a one year deal and passed. This team has a very short window to win a SB, and like always the FO **** the bed. I know our cap situation, there are guys you could cut and restructure to go for it this season.

Preston Brown signed with the Bengals 2 days ago. This here website is pretty handy for NFL news and whatnot, maybe give it a shot:

He's a 7 time pro bowl special teams guy. He'd be a solid add.

I was just going to post this and ask why anyone would think we were bringing him in to add him for his WR abilities. He's a Special Teamer that would be here to replace Golden who was very good at it as well.

But Golden was also a serviceable safety. Slater offers no value besides special teams. I mean even DHB offers some value as a backup WR. This guy is only a special teamer and obviously past his prime or the Pats would have resigned him for cheap weeks ago.

He missed some games with various injuries the last few years. They already signed some of their other ST core players.Perhaps they are seeing his worth or are moving on. As they have had a decent turnover this offseason.
