Our best ever series as voted by Steeler Nation.
The offseason is too long. Let's get back to the sounds of football please.* Until then I will be running a best-ever series among Steelers.
Simple rules: Those who want to play along can. We'll go with a consensus. I'll keep the thread ongoing under one thread. ** Positions with just one starter will be limited to five players.* Positions with two or more starters, limited to ten players. You may list any player dating back to the early days.
Up first Quarterback:
1.Roethlisberger - Hold most Steeler records for passing. Hall of fame bound.*Enough said.
2. Bradshaw - 4 super bowl wins.* Hall of fame player. Played great in big games.
3. O'Donnell - Underrated, worked with mediocre skill players. Good winning percentage. 39-22 as a starter ( 62.9 % ). 81.8 QB rating on the Steelers.
4. Layne - An old timer, but hall of fame player, most of his best years were on Detroit.* However, he had a 27-22-2 with the Steelers when the rest of the team around him could be described as terrible.
5. Stewart. - A poor passer, but the Steelers won a lot of games with him thanks to the defense and his legs. *Too turnover prone.* Was 46-29 as a starter. ( 61.35 ) Career QB rating on the Steelers 70.7
Honorable mention - Maddox, Brister.
