Other draft needs

All the video game like trade scenario's, think to yourself out loud for a second, do the Steelers operate this way?

Be realistic and realize this team does very minor trades when it does make a trade. The Bettis trade was our last major trade, 20+ years ago.

How many trades do the Steelers get offered? I'd like to know. Colbert is very tight-lipped don't the topic. The last one I was aware of was a down trade offer in the 2016 draft. I would have taken X. Howard over Burns, and used the extra 3rd round pick on safety Justin Simmons

Did teams call the Steelers about trading Bell when he was unsigned? I'd guess yes, but at that time the draft order was unclear. Would the Browns take Bell in exchange for their 4h round pick? Maybe.

PS: I'd say Polamalu was our last major trade during the draft. If memory serves we spent a 3rd and 6th to move up in round one.

I'm pretty sure even a dunce like yourself could draft better than the Browns. Well maybe not, but I could.

A job in the NFL? I never applied. Why would I, my last name isn't Rooney, Haley, or Colbert and I would need over six-figure to re-locate.

Let's see if I can add some football content to your nonsense.

For those unaware ( you and you ) Kevin's son Dan Colbert's son Dan is one of the Steelers scouts. I hear the kid is a grinder.

Art's son Art Rooney IV didn't make it with the Steelers; he's at NFL films now as a Producer.

Why would Bell want to play for Cleveland? Any team that would trade for him would have to sign him long-term, which means Bell
would have to want to play for them. Cleveland would likely be Bells last choice.

We moved up for Santonio as well. But those are draft position moves and not moves for players as you are making a case for. We just simply don't make blockbuster trades for impact players. This franchise tries its best to draft impact players and then retain them from within. The misses are very well noted on this board. I'd say they connect much more than they miss with the draft picks.

We would need to sign Bell to be able to trade him during the draft. I would expect him to have a similar offseason where he waits to sign his tag. Even if he does get a new contract that won't get signed until some point at training camp.

A few reasons:

1 ) He's from Ohio

2 ) He wants more money

3 ) He might be upset with the Steelers organization.

4 ) Currently, there is a bill working its way through Ohio’s legislative process that, if passed, would legalize medical pot :)

That is state rules, NFL rules still trump them.

If he wants 17 million he has to know only ****** teams with tons of cap space can afford to sign him. I’d throw the same or similar deal at him as they did last year. If he says no tag him and let his agent workout a contract with another team for a trade. He’d be tagged at 14.5 million so he’s not signing for less than that. I’d gather the 9ers, Browns, Colts and Jets would have the money but likely only the Browns and Colts have the ammo to pry him away. Maybe Jets if they throw in a 3rd rounder this year and a 1st rounder next year.

I'll let wiser legal minds comment, but if he's legally high from medical pot, the cops can't give him a DUI for it. Or can they? One thing is clear, you don't want a second DUI.

But on points 1-3, I think they are fair.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, the Browns have over 36 million in cap space for 2018, and over 100 million in cap space for 2019.

My prediction is that the Browns will take Barkley with their first pick and take a QB with their #4.
I actually think Kizer could be a decent QB with a good group around him.
