Open Discussion on Kaperdick workout.

No offers, no workout invitations for Colin Kaepernick after Saturday’s session

Kaepernick’s representatives have not heard from any teams with either an invitation to work out privately or an offer to sign a contract.

Fine enough, but freedom of speech does not extend to the workplace. The sideline before the game is your workplace.
Most people who think Kap is awesome are too young to remember Marge Schott and Jimmy The Greek but if you think Kap can express his beliefs in the workplace then Marge and Jimmy shouldn't have lost their jobs either.

more recently, you had the owner of the LA Clippers where somebody released an edited audio clip of him in his own home, not public statement, something he said in his own home, and the NBA kicked him out of the league. Everybody cheered the NBA for that. Funny that all these Free Speech arguments didn’t come up then.

Par for the course, Krapper never intended to actually work, why should he with his $70mil buy out from the NFL. NOW the NFL has grounds to refute any future claims of this **** bagger.

And that should close the curtain on this saga which is what I suspect the NFL truly wanted.

What about wearing a Castro shirt or wearing socks with Police depicted as pigs ?

wonder what Tibs thoughts would be on employees wearing kkk and confederate flag t-shirts at work.
just a little peaceful freedom of speech?

I was under the impression that was what the suit settled for in favore of the two plaintiffs, your 10mil might be what his actual cut was.

Yes, the 2 plaintiffs who said there was collusion against them and 1 of them was an active player at the time.

man, if you're interviewing for a job or team, you put your best foot forward. Changing the venue and time on the same day the NFL & Falcons set this up for him, only to change it to a HS field on short notice was a bad look. It's not surprising teams are still staying away.

Just putting this out there, this is where I differ. He could be kneeling because he thinks uncooked kosher sausages should have voting rights. I would disagree with his stand, but still fully support his right to express his stand. Period.

He could be kneeling for world peace and pledging $1 million to the most amazing charities in the world for every second he kneels and I still don't believe he or any other player/coach/executive should be protesting a cause on company time (unless they're on strike because of labor issues).

You would put up with him kneeling for the anthem at games MTC? You know, there would be 1000 cameras on him the first game, lined up waiting for him to do it, which is exactly what he want's. Can't imagine why any team would want that distraction again.

I would not watch and give him what he want's if any team signed him.

He’d be the one to deal with those consequences. His choice. I didn’t say I agree with them

I know I shouldn't be, but I am simply amazed at how many out there are insistent of Kaepernick getting signed and basically saying you're a terrible person if you agree with anything the NFL or the teams have done.

I don't care if a team signs him or not, but what I do know is if a team wanted to sign him, they would have already. Even after this publicity stunt the other day, the workout could've been a springboard for a team in need of a QB, but Kaepernick called out the league and ALL of its teams in his statement after it was over. He didn't sound like a guy who wanted a job, but rather one who wanted to think the league is holding him back.

I guess that is kind of his point though. Why would the NFL put together this charade if no NFL really wants to sign him?

I think he understands that if any NFL team really wanted him they would have brought him in on their own dime. I don't think any NFL scout doubts his abilities. We've seen plenty of declining skill QBs on rosters.

I don't blame either party for protecting their legal strengths. At the end of the day the NFL should have never presented this workout and their wouldn't be a story.

I've never experienced anything to make me not believe an officer. But we have mostly great police departments in my state.

Used to be good friends with a local cop. Dude has his ******* side as much as anyone, but at the end of the day I could at least appreciate his perspective about putting his life on the line. Like he said, he has no idea who he is pulling over...could be a regular guy just in a hurry or a druggie with a pistol looking for a fight. Flip side, I have seen many a case like the video of the kid who police shot in the back when he was on the phone in his grandmothers back yard. Kid didn't do nothing wrong and on private property. I could go on, but, football forum so all I am gonna say is that both sides of the debate have valid perspectives that you can't solve on a MB.

I don't have much exp with cops, but i have seen both sides. My mom who walks with a cane got pulled over one day for the sticker on her plate. We had the new sticker in the glove box it was just not on yet. The cop was like i can impound your car and make you guys walk... Ended up getting a fine, but what an ***. On the flip side my gf got pulled over one day with no insurance, registration, or inspection and got off with nothing. She had her scrubs on so maybe he appreciated the profession and gave her a break. I have also got fined by park police for night fishing without a permit. We did not know we needed a permit and we were not drinking or whatever. It started pouring rain and the park police came by and told us to wait.... so like idiots wr waited they came back and gave us $90 fines for a permit that cost$10

I have personally seen both sides of their good and bad. Not unlike any other profession that there is some bad apples. But I certainly wouldn't call it a majority problem. Now what is more of a significant problem is black on black murder. Yet that never seems to be focused in on. A black youth is more likely to get killed by another black male than a police officer. But that isn't pushed. A cop agenda is more attractive. Even though the percentages of cops killing black males pales in comparison. Outside of that discussion is too many murders from every race group. Which still would be a better driving agenda than blaming cops for a few bad apples.

Quit being racist.

You’ve seen many a case like that of a cop shooting a kid on his grandmother’s lawn in the back?

I'd bet Krappernick keeps crying foul but never puts forth TRUE effort to play. This last fiscal is proof of my staement.

Please explain what he did besides kneel

Read this thread and you'll find your answer. You make it sound so simple. "all the dude did is kneel". Yeah, and all Dahmer did was grab a quick bite to eat.

The arrogant asshat was on his way to being insignificant. no shoe deals, no commercials, the light was fading. By him sitting, and then kneeling, caused a divide in this nation and violence in our streets. ALL police officers are villainized and attacked, disrespected, authority be damned. What is Kaepernick actually doing about the issue? Has he funded private firms to conduct independent investigations and bring the corruption to light for us all to see? Is he spurring an effort to have better training for law enforcement? Character is shown through action, like Ashton Kutcher helping to save kids from human sex trafficking. He is in the weeds with this effort, not just handing out checks like Kaepernick. So, maybe you're right after all, when it comes to racism and police brutality, all the dude did was kneel.

Allthough you have a good post, you've wasted your time as bricks56 is definately football challenged. We all know the political side of Krappernick but what about your opinion on his return to football. His recent video of his workout shows me more less than ready than being ready. The clip I saw showed a high arc rainbow allowing the receiver plenty of time to run under it weather it was on target or not. Krappernick didn't want NFL film crew because they would have had correct angles to show this fact. Krapper changed venue not because of the release form but because of the fact he would be exposed legitimately and on film.

Again, **** Krapper and the time spent on this AzzsHolE
