Very easy money and where else can you screw up, not be held accountable, and gamble on the side??????? WITHOUT being fired !!!!!!!

Given the complexity of the rules, the NFL refs do a pretty good job compared to the other major sports. They really need to refine the rule book.

I agree with you as I was just mocking the refs. The rules are meant for controversy so as they can control the game. Think about it, why can't we determine what is and what isn't a catch???

Just allow any play not whistled dead to be reviewed. There is enough video these days to get the call right.

We still don't know what's a catch. And certain refs protect certain players. Ben gets no such luxury.

Overall the officials do a good job. Do you guys not remember how bad it was with the replacement refs? The NFL is fast it is impossible for these guys to see everything. We have a zoomed in slow mo view and people still argue which call is correct.

Games are long enough as it is, we don't need more replay review unless it is the same speed that they use for tennis, which isn't going to happen. If you simplify the rule book, then there shouldn't be as big of a need for replay review.

I'd say of the four major sports it would go basketball, football, hockey and baseball in that order in terms of difficulty to ref. I see the current NFL regime very reactionary in terms of when a certain play causes a problem especially in a game they want a "fix" and usually the fix causes another problem.
