One playoff spot left...Alabama or Ohio - What say ye???

Do any of you really think OSU is better than Alabama? Really? The Big 10 was not good, period. And I'm not an Alabama or SEC fan.

Yes, i think OSU would beat Bama. big Ten has higher ranked teams than the SEC this year. OSU played a much tougher schedule than Bama. Bama’s best win is vs 17 Lsu who lost to Troy. OSU has wins over 6 Wisconsin, 9 Penn State, 16 Mich State.

They also won their rivalry game vs Michigan. Before you say. I Michigan is no good, they have e losses to 16 Mich State, 9 PSU, 6 Wisconsin, and 5 Ohio State. Michigan did blow out Florida.

Bama is not the same team as last year. Their defense is good but not shutdown and is still vulnerable to a mobile QB. Their offense struggled vs the few good teams they faced this year.

Ohio State is a more talented version of 3 loss Auburn. Both have a great DL that stuffs the run and rushes the passer. OSU has better secondary. Bama would have a hard time scoring vs OSU just like against Auburn.

I think Ohio State would have a good shot vs Clemson and would beat Georgia or Bama. Oklahoma is tough because they pass so well and that’s how you beat Ohio State. OSU will have a tougher game vs USC than they would have had in the playoff from a matchup standpoint.

the ncaa really needs to have a playoff system with all major conferences winners participating.

Or short of that, an algorithm of how it is decided of who gets in. The problem is, if they were honest, the algorithm would include preferential tie-breakers toward SEC teams. No way 2 loss Auburn would have been excluded had they won on Saturday.

To have a non-conference winner included in a field of 4 is absurd.

As much as I dislike OSU and don't care for the media lovefest of Bama, the committee got it right.

Now if they can expand this sham of a playoff to 8 teams and get the best 8 teams instead of the best 4, we won't be having this conversation.

The final four concept is a good concept, it just misses the mark on all of the great teams.

the same OSU team that was BLOWN OUT by all of Iowa? the same team that lost by 15 at home to Oklahoma?
no bias there, right?

If there was some kind of actual parity to the conferences this would make sense, but there is not. Between some it is not even close.

The NFL has had conversations the past few seasons about a minor league system because college offenses and defenses have not run or developed pro style ready players for decades now... they have always supported college because it was a free minor league for them... its no longer the case, and european development leagues have not proven themselves useful, so eventually they are going to bite the bullet and make one... then College football can go back to actual student athletes not booster bought mercenaries...

K, wake me up when that happens
