One last mock the mock...7 rounder

1. I agree, WJ3. CB, Houston
2. Austin Johnson DT, Penn ST. Rotational possibilites at DE too.
3. Shaq Calhoun, OLB, Mich ST. Abosloute steal in the 3rd.
4. Jayron Kearse, S, Clemson.
6. Diendre Hall, CB, N. Iowa.
7. Moritz Boehringer, WR/TE, Germany.
7. Anthoney Zettle, DE, Penn St.

Maycock haso us taking Apple with WJIII on the board.

I'd ask someone to talk Coolie off of the bridge if that happens, but who of us wouldn't want to see him jump?

It could easily happen. Let's not forget we have NO IDEA how the Steelers have ranked the players.

Yes but there are plenty reports of who they have spoken to, visted with, dined with, brought in, and there is barely any interest shown from the Steelers towards Apple other than an interview at the Combine which the Steelers would've interviewed a ton of prospects. Besides the Combine there has been no interest towards him, especially since he's an underclassmen, which as a potential 1st round pick he would've been brought in for a visit or been shown significantly more attention.

Not that I have a preference, but I'd be surprised if they took Jackson over Apple. He's of a higher pedigree, rated higher and an OSU product.

It does make a lot of sense.

They're playing it close the the vest... :)

They had a strong presence had his pro day and met with him there too.

Then they are playing it ultra close to the vest lol. And while they were at Ohio State's pro day, they didn't have dinner with him like they did with WJIII and Billings. Also, the Steelers typically bring underclassmen in for visits that are possible 1st Rd picks to get to know them better, and seeing as Apple is a RS Soph. they would've brought him in to the facility if they planned to possibly take him in the first. I guess they could take him, but it would be a departure from how the Steelers normally operate.

1. Jackson3, CB
2. Davis, CB
3. Calhoun, DE
4. Lawler, WR
6. -7B - no idea

Indeed.

25 William Jackson III - CB, Houston
58. Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State
89. Shilique Calhoun, DE, Michigan State
123. Justin Simmons, S, Boston College
220. Pearce Slater, OT, San Diego State
229. Kalan Reed, CB, Southern Miss
246. Jalin Marshall, WR, Ohio State

This would be a great draft. I think Calhoun won't be there for us in round 3, and Simmons will be gone before we select in round 4.
