One Down: Pouncey

it wouldn't surprise me if he does retire, but some reporters try to be the first one to leak the story for the clicks. I think we need to hear it from the man himself.

of course we need to hear from MP when he is ready.
I don't think Dale was going for clickbait, just reporting about the scene that unfolded after the game with Ben and MP sitting on the bench together long after the teams had left the field.

Ah maybe Ben will put his arm around him and tell him he will get him a Superbowl .....next year

I just reread the article - I take it back. Dale did say the decision is made although he did not state MP said it. I qoute: "For Pouncey, that decision is made. He's done. And that's why Roethlisberger was in tears."

Dale can be a tool. In this case he should have not come across like it is fact until it officially is reported.

Never a Pouncey fan. He was never great and he got pushed around by every big nose tackle he faced. Lived on reputation alone and never understood why he was put in the same class as Dawson and Webster.

It definitely wasn't for clicks because it's buried in the article and the headline has nothing to do with Pouncey.

I see Lolley is backpedaling, but he was very definitive in the words he wrote in the article despite no quotes from Pouncey. If it isn't true, it was an irresponsible line from Lolley.

If Pouncey is done, I'd consider bringing Finney back next year to replace him. First off, he'd be cheap and be able to play right away.
Ben has experience playing with him and I think he is a quality Center. We can still draft a Center for the future but he could be the stop gap while giving us a chance to win.

Regardless...great Steeler and carried on the great tradition of Steeler Centers.

Is leadership in the locker room just another relic of the past? All the young folks are interested in FF and individual statistics/achievements rather than teams...does that carry over to the young kids on the team? Is it only about the INDIVIDUAL?

Our coaches are below the line in terms of Xs and Os...we got the Jimmies and Joes...(yes, O-line needs rebuilt)

FFS AR2...do something.

There is some free agent centers out there available. Perhaps the Steelers bring in 1.

Ben has one more year left on his contract. I think he plays next year then retires.

If Pouncey does retire, what a ****** thing to go out on .... not everybody, but a lotta people will remember that bad snap.

Ben has always said he'd seriously consider retiring when Pouncey left.

I thought they have both been on record saying they were going out together?

Cause of that snap, I think he's back next year.

He is really young to be done... most Star centers Hang them up at 35 or 36.... few have lost tgeir mojo at what 32 or 33? ... maybe chronic injuries play a part, but it feels like emotional decisions

This is the truth. We can draft a new center in round 2 or 3.

I suspect the ankle surgeries and leg surgeries have caught up to him. these things often have long lasting effects.
