Being reported he will retire. That 8 million in the coffers and 6 .5 in ghost cap dead money. Thanks for your service Pounce, but it is time.

Pretty sure Ben already knew that was coming and why they sat on the bench so long after the game together. Center has long been a pride point for the Steelers. Thanks MP for all the great years. Good Luck with the next stage of your life.

I thought it was the other way around - that MP said he would when Ben did. MP is 6 or 7 years younger then Ben.

You could be right, I'm older than both of them, so my memory could be letting me down, LOL.

That may be a domino I hear falling...

For the good of the team, Ben should go with him.

He knows he personally set the tone for yesterdays loss.

Without that first snap, we have a totally different ballgame.

You never want to say one play cost you the game, but this one play set the tone....

I don't know if it "cost them the game", but it sure as **** threw out everything they probably had planned to do.

The fact that they were in panic mode from the first (actual) offensive snap pretty much set up the 1st interception and from there it was off to the races.

As Shane Falco says... "Quicksand."

BB will be next. My guess is tomorrow or Weds at the latest.

For the good of the team huh. Careful what you wish for.

We all know the absence of Ben on this team weakens the Roster for next year, but you have to go to the bottom to get to the top. And yes I know many teams stay at the bottom, but two things are absolutely true: You cannot play forever and no one is taking this team to serious contention next year including Big Ben.

Being reported that the report of his retirement is premature....

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">To be clear, I did not report that <a href="https://twitter.com/MaurkicePouncey?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@MaurkicePouncey</a> is officially retiring. I did report that it certainly appeared that he is retiring. He'll make that official announcement on his own. That was part of my 10 Thoughts from yesterday's game.</p>— Dale Lolley (@dlolley_pgh) <a href="https://twitter.com/dlolley_pgh/status/1348734979514245128?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 11, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Lolley shouldn't put that out there until it's offical and from MP. Give the man 24 hrs to process his future, at least.

I read Dale's article on DKPS this morning. While Dale does speculate that MP will retire, he did not say MP had made any announcement. He did explain why he thought the signs are there for MP to retire.

it wouldn't surprise me if he does retire, but some reporters try to be the first one to leak the story for the clicks. I think we need to hear it from the man himself.
