Which player has impressed you more?

Right now I'd have to say Gilbert III, but I would like to see him get some snaps vs the 1st string guys.

Ulysees Gilbert III played 46 snaps in the second half against Tampa Bay and finished with three tackles, 1½ sacks, a forced fumble and a whopping four quarterback hurries.
Like Bush, Gilbert is known for his speed. He ran a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash at his pro day at the University of Akron

Well since Ola just had surgery.......hmmmm.

Both and find a way. Maybe Ola on short term IR AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. We still have two pre-season games to make final hole. I don't know if either would stash on paractise squad.

Gilbert because I didn't expect much of an impact. He showed he can make plays in the backfield Week 1 and last week he was 20 yards down field stuck on the hip of a wide receiver. Probably his most impressive play of the preseason.

Gilbert has surprised me more. Ola took an even bigger jump in year 2 and is by far the better player of the two.

He is, but Gilbert is an absolute find. That guy has crazy closing speed, instincts (for a rookie) & just an all-around impressive debut in his short time on the team. Keep them both.

Is Gilbert facing the first and second teamers yet? I liked the pick when they drafted him. I think he makes the roster. But Ola has faced a higher level of competition and shined.

Agree 100 percent on Gilbert

Gilbert’s upside is better too. I think ola is strong but he’s too slow 4.83 40 to cover anyone.

Tomlin better keep Gilbert. Sure he has a lot to learn but he also has things you can’t coach.

Suddenly the Steeler have serious speed and playmaking ability with their rookies.

I don't see how they're comparable considering Ola is an OLB, and Gilbert is an ILB. Ola's speed is irrelevant, all he needs to be able to do is cover the flat or drop to cover curls, Ins, and drags, he shouldn't be carrying a TE down the seam.....ever, it's unnecessary.

Keep them both and Skipper. Cut Chick...

Upside is better to whom? As Ianv stated Gilbert skill set is ILB. Ola is an OLB position wise, so his coverage responsibilities are no where as complex as inside. You are kidding about 40 times right? Ola didn’t look like a 4.80 last year when he was turning heads in camp and then got IR’d.

Sure Gilbert has looked solid against 3s and 4s, but let’s hold off the crowning until he’s seen snaps against starters and on STs.

Just curious, since you are high on Gilbert, who are you crediting for him being there?

Who has Ola ever covered? No Ike I used facts. Ola ran a 4.83. Dirt red had a better time by a small margin.

Facts? Who has Matekavetch covered? He’s a monster on ST though. What does he have to do with the comment? I’ll bite, nothing.

Again, answer the question. Who are you crediting for Gilbert being on this team, even if he makes the 53?

Ola ran a 4.83.

It's been hard to find but it's been rumored James Harrison ran a 4.98. You using that metric now is just part of your agenda against certain players.

Sigh...

FORTYTIMESDONTMATTERASMUCHASYOUTHINKTHEYDO!!!

How many times do we have to tell you that not every player needs to be a track star? Our ALL WORLD WR (he's gone) ran a 4.65 40 - he's THE BEST WR over the past 7 years.

He's on a slippery slope and sliding uncontrollably...
