Ok so what/who do we draft?

totally disagree

JuJu is no #1, him being our best doesn't mean squat, he had the chance to shine but can't get open, can't beat double coverage, gets smothered, over rated, a #2 at best

We still need a #1

RB - a whole bunch of scrubs with a china doll to look up to

complete failure by management by not bringing in a trusted vet

**** we could have brought in Marshawn Lynch early in the year, he would have been something, they never even tried to improve

we do need a TE but the Steelers have no clue these days how to use one, one or two throws a game is all they do

I am almost there with ya but Lynch isn't the answer.

What do you think of Feiler moving to LG? I think he is not the answer at RT

I've seen this commented on. If he is agile enough to pull on running plays then this is the best bet for our OL and let the young uns battle it out for the RT spot.

If we remove LG as a draft need then I'm looking real hard at TE in R2 and NT/RB in R3.

We didn't need to marry the guy for a lifetime! Just a cheap rental when Conner sat in the tub for a month

The team may not have a clear picture on Ben’s arm by the time the draft rolls around.

That is a very scary real possibility

and with no cap space for free agents

Yikes

My point is do they hope and pray, and not address it, or go all in and maybe waste the pick/s on QB. It is a **** situation.

I'm buying what Hines is selling w/ needing a new NT/DT because Hargrave, while talented rushing the passer, hasn't gotten it done against the run.

I think they should focus on beefing up both lines, look for another WR pretty early and get a RB but look in the later rounds or UDFA. Hell, Gus Edwards, who just gashed the Steelers for 6.2 YPC yesterday was a UDFA. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I'd try to resign Finney and Dupree, release Foster and we likely lose Hargrave, Vannett and rest of UFA's. Not sure what we can pick up in free agency,
but for playing time you need a starter capable OL person, a back-up TE, starting NT and back-up safety, competition for Edmunds. Everything else is bonus
if Ben comes back ready to play.

We might already have a #1 receiver in Johnson, if he catches 59 as a rookie from Rudolph/Hodges, he can catch 100 from Ben.
Unless a premier back falls, you aren't going to upgrade RB with committee of Snell, Connor, Whyte, Samuels

If Ben is healthy, his ability to read defenses and audible is the biggest upgrade to 2020 team.

I hope they find out sooner not later, we got all the chickens riding on Bens elbow now, unless he decided to retire

There is no good answer

None of that other draft **** even matters without a starting QB

Can they draft a new athletic trainer.? This team is forever injured

I seen years they has a **** load to resign and got it done. Only two that I really think need to be brought back and they can still wiggle some more for a few free agents.Maybe a RT/NT/ and a vet QB. Restructure BigBen could go a long way into making it happen. Being aggressive with Bud and backloading a new contract would be smart too. His recent comments suggest he would like to stay put.

A DL so we can still only run two with running team. Lol.

I disagree with this 110% They had a special on a few weeks ago sitting down with Nick Saban and Bill Belichick and them talking about coaching in general. They both talked about their mistakes as coaches, and also about how they both firmly believe that great players cannot make up for bad coaching. If Ben could overcome bad coaching, we would have one maybe 2 more rings over the last decade. The Steelers had all the talent in the world on offense and still could not capitalize because of the coaching staff that we had in place.

Sorry, you’re misunderstanding and/or I’m explaining poorly. Probably the latter.

IF we had coaches the caliber of Munchak/Bellicheat/Saban/etc., then we wouldn’t need superstars. We’d simply need players capable of absorbing knowledge and a proper work ethic.
We most certainly do NOT have proper coaching. Coaches are either rah-rah motivational types that can get their players to run through brick walls for them or coaches are teachers that develop their players and mold them into superstars within their system. The coaches currently on the Steelers are neither. They are yes men. Players’ coaches. The players run the show and are not held accountable for anything. Our defense excelled in spite of our coaches this year, not because of them. Because we have a lot of athletic freaks with work ethic and football smarts. Minkah, TJ, Cam, Bush.

Since we don’t have even modestly average NFL coaches on staff, and since the coaches are not going anywhere anytime soon because it’s Pittsburgh and coaches are allowed to stay forever, and because you have a rule named after you the current coach will AT LEAST break Noll’s record for public image reasons, then the ONLY way to improve our current team is to get younger more athletic players who can overcome horrible coaching and help us win by their talent alone.

Articulate way to describe that ignorant ******* *******. When I briefly heard Tomlin today say "painting with a broad brush" while he took absolutely no responsibility for the loss himself, I realized the pain many have gone through here.

Buggs showed a little promise late in the season when he got a few snaps. But I agree here. And, I think this is finally the last stand for Big Dan. He has to be gone for some better player.

I would not put much hope in a RB.

Considering our cap situation and potential problem areas, the RB is going to be pretty low on the list.

All the running backs on the roster are under contract and/or cheap. We are going to blame any running back issues in 2019 on injuries and the whole offensive game plans went south with Roethlisberger out.

Follow the contracts/money. How we handle Dupree, Foster and McDonald is going to dictate this teams greatest needs. I think its OL and TE by a mile over other positions. I would even put DB ahead of running back because there is potential we let both Burns and Davis walk.

I think the committee of Conner, Snell & Samuels is dead set at RB for 2020. No changes.

That's true, his new extension kicks in and we be taking a $33 million cap hit on Ben next year

I disagree on this, del. I think Conner is a huge ? as far as his dependability moving forward. Samuels has shown very litte since his breakout game against the Pats last year. This season, he's been ho-hum, a truly run of the mill, average RB at best. Snell has some promise, and we can expect him to get better. But is he a RB1 you can build a run game around?

I think the Steelers will look to add at least one RB in the draft and/or FA, then let the chips fall where they may. I don't think our RB group is nearly as locked-in as you make it seem.

2. ILB - I would love Anfernee Jennings, He's approching Levon Kirkland Size. 6'3" 265lbs
3. OL - Ben Cleveland, OG, 6'7" 340lbs. He is a road grader
4. TE - Brycen Hopkins 6"5" 245, I'd be surprised if he makes this far. Fast, balanced, sure hands.
4. NT - Rashad Lawrence 6'3' 317 - 1/3 of his tackles this season were for a loss. Nasty nasty man.
Like many others have said, Once Fichtner is fired, and he had better be fired, and maybe even Sarrett needs to go as well; and Big Ben is back in the lineup the offense will greatly improve. We do need some youth and size on the OL. ILB is the team's biggest need. Bush is outstanding sideline to sideline but he's getting lost in the wash. Anfernee Jennings is a big mean body that is greatly needed. Put a big nasty like Rashad Lawrence at NT and watch how the LB's are able to fill gaps. He brings an attitude and lifts others up around him.

If we add a true NT and actually use it then the need for a MLB decreases, you still have Vince for the thumper and you could get a 4th round guy to complete the rotation, I'm hoping Gilbert gets the 4th ILB spot to be the backup to Bush

with the new pass happy leauge it would be stupid to have a 265 MLB unless he runs a 4.45, we add a decent NT via free agency who can split playing in the 3-3 with Tyson and rotate with Tuitt in the nickel at DE/DE
some names these are space eating cloggers none should cost a lot
Carl Davis
Phil Taylor
A'shwn Robinson if he hits fa due to age he might be the only one that may get out of our price range
Sheldon Day

ways to franchise and extend Dupree
Cut Foster Chickello let hargrave Mcullers go

fa should be only open to vet QB fitz Mariota hoyer if out there
RB look for a vet that can split PT with Conner, Samuals had all the opportunity but showed nothing aside from being screen swing cass canditiate, just 12 months ago he ran for 144 vs the Pats same OL only difference TE james and Grimble and OL coach, in that span we have seen Villineuva Foster age show as both were really bad in pass protection constantly getting pushed, both at times can be good run blockers but saw no push in games Snell started or , as well AV to many holding calls, next year both Banner or a better blocking te on his side.
