"D" continues to play well, but gives up more than 16, regardless if Manning or Osweiler. Offense comes back to life a bit and we don't settle for 4 field goals. Ben plays, and AB plays .... if AB can't go, MB and Wheaton step up.

Stillers win a squeaker 24-23.

Last Week:

43 Predictons - 38 of yinz picked the Stillers, 5 for the Bengals (2 of them were douchbag Bengals fans though)

SteelChip picked the Stillers to win 20-16, off by 2 total points.
SteelChip wins week 18.

(Gold star for Ron Burgundy who called for a Stillers win via a Bos FG with 5 secs left in the game)

GREAT JOB STEELCHIP !!!!!!!!!!

Meh, it's a crapshoot with this team anyway.

I gotta say, I really do think the defense deserves a tip of the cap for the game last week. Given, it was against a back up in mccarron, but all we heard was how he was better than a typical back up and how he's been in the national spotlight many times in college. There was definitely some lapses, especially in the 4th quarter, but they also got the ball back for the offense for one last ditch effort. Shazier was lights out and hopefully he can really start to string some games together because he's shown glimpses of being a Polamalu-esque difference maker. Don't get that confused though; he's still got a long way to go before earning that title. However, does he come up with another big game this week? He was all over the place against the bungholes and was solid at finishing his tackles. I wanna see him flying around and getting in mannings face. Is this the time he finally starts showing some consistency? Does butler come out with the same type game plan that he had in the 2nd half of the last game? The donkey fans are really high on noodle arm taking them to the promised land this season and most seem to think that this game is going to be a cake walk. The defense has to get to manning early and often and they need to make sure they don't miss tackles or overpursue and give up easy rush lanes because manning is going to audible out into draw plays. Especially with his stupid fuckinng "Omaha" call. Maybe I'm setting myself up for a sure heart attack on Sunday, but I'm hopeful that this defense steps up in a big way and makes some plays.

Manning will pick apart our secondary and Ben will be harassed as the Broncos lay tight coverage . They were missing their top 3 safeties last time we met.

With Ben and AB:

Steelers - 30
Broncos - 27

Without Ben and AB:

Steelers - 24
Broncos - 23

I will never pick against the Steelers, not even without Ben and AB.

With BB and AB
Steelers-21
Denver-17

Without BB and AB
Denver-27
Steelers-14

Hopefully our running game can keep the Denver defense honest. If we can establish some sort of run game, we will definately win this game with having BB and AB in the game. But really though, even if AB cant play and having our other recivers in the game we do have a shot to win this game. But if Ben cant play, i honestly cant see us beating the Donkeys. Just being honest.

If the game is below freezing, Manning is toast. If it's above freezing, we have a chance.

If AB can't go (which I keep reading everywhere I turn today), I hope Coates is further along than we have seen - which is nothing. Having him able to play a decent amount of snaps with his size and speed should help. The big thing is he needs to catch the ball when thrown to him. We can have Bryant, DHB and Coates dropping balls. That would be the key to this game if AB can't go. Catch the ball if it's thrown to you. No easy drops.

It's too early to predict this game. Much depends on Ben's and William's status. AB is likely out.

Broncos are healthy, Steelers are far from it. Just shows you how important it is to get that bye week. I think it will be close for most of the game, but the injuries will prove too much.
