31-24 good guys

I'm feeling better about this game than I did two weeks ago but this is one of the two top opponents left on the schedule. I think we eke out a win at home 23 - 21

Eli Rogers and gang tacklers.........26
Retired manning's brother eli ........19

Salute the nation

While the Steelers are playing better lately, we also played the worst team in football, and the Colts without Luck could give Cleveland their first win. As they say in sports, these two opponents were just what the doctor ordered.

Therefore its hard to get a read on the Steelers, but I will say the rookie class is starting to contribute, Green is now playing, and Dupree is also back.

The Giants have a pretty good defense. 7th in terms of points allowed, tied for 8th in interceptions, #1 in passes defended, and 12th in terms of sacks.

To win, Ben will need to keep playing lights out. And the Steelers will need to limit flags and big plays that lead to points or outright scores. Using clock management will also help.

I just don't trust the Steelers defense vs the Giants passing offense and I think our passing offense hurting a bit due to injuries at Wide Receiver.

Giants 30
Steelers 24

The one thing I have been pleased with about the Steeler defense of late is how hard they're hitting and how aggressive they're "Trying" to be.

Hopefully this will carry over and they'll continue to play some sound, fundamental ball. Tolzien actually played some pretty good ball last week. He had nice touch and truthfully, considering nobody had any tape on him, the defense did a nice job overall of playing him all things considered. I'm certain Luck would have been more effective, but Tolzien didn't play badly.

What the Steelers MUST do is find another consistent receiver. I don't know how, but they have GOT to get somebody into a rhythm to take SOME kind of heat off Brown. Admittedly Brown was a full on freak last week, but Ben was in a zone as well. I was thrilled that Rodgers made an appearance, but then he flat out disappeared. I'm not sure if that was him or Ben dialing in on Bell and Brown.

Reality sucks.
Right along with home losses.
Unless there is some kind of agonizing reappraisal of the Steeler Defensive effort to keep Eli and OBJ in check?
Reality sucks.

The Steelers came close to improving their playoff standings yesterday with the Ravens, Pats, Dolphins and Raiders all almost losing, but nothing fell their way.

Not getting a good vibe.

Giants 28
Steelers 23

I look at it this way: If they don't manage a win at home, and a near-must-win scenario, it will confirm they are not anywhere close to being a legit contender.

We still are solid at home, losing to both favorite teams in each conference, once without our star QB, the other with a still-banged up QB. No shame in those losses (although when your D gives up a rushing TD with only 42 seconds left in the game at the start of a drive, that is weak sauce.)

Vegas has us a 6 point favorites.

Steelers 23
G-men 20.
