OFFICIAL PREDICTION THREAD - Game 2 - Steelers vs. Ravens Pt. 1

Steelers 20
Rats 17

I think both teams have a lot of work to do. Ray Rice was already losing carries last year. Him being gone means nothing. Hell, if the Steelers figure out that games last sixty minutes on offense it could be a blow out. I'm not confident they will ever figure that out.

The rats are in disarray. The entire Rice saga is a huge weight. Not sure how they'll adjust. Our defense isn't great but if the Steelers are going to win on the road in ratland this is the time.

Looks like the country will be Steeler fans this week!

Flacco had 62 pass attempts last Sunday. Yowza. Can he keep that up?

With that many attempts, some Steelers ought to be able to get to him a couple of times.

Putting up over 400 yards of offense only netted the Ravens 16 points last week while they gave up less yards and more points to Dalton/Green/Some RB. The Steelers may give up more than 16 points, but can score more than 23. Ben/Brown/Bell > Dalton/Green/Some RB.

There is absolutely no reason to suspect the Ravens knew about the video, other than the paranoid delusions in your tin-foil hat wearing minds.

Are you truly that blind? Everyone knew the video was there. The police had it and used it in their investigation. I knew about it and posted about it in multiple places. It had been reported on by most news outlets. Just because YOU say you didn't see it means ****. Just as Goodell and the Rats saying they didn't see it. You don't need to see it when you know the police have it. Both are reacting to public outcry and not "seeing the video for the first time". If you believe that, I have some land for sale.

I expect the Ravens to be fighting some serious disarray this week. I also expect Tomlin to be completely incapable of game-planning for the Ravens. I assume he's preparing for Ray Rice.

No matter what's going on with Baltimore, the Ravens always bring it. I imagine they'll be tough, especially at home. As badly as the defense played last week I don't know what to expect. Unfortunately, I have no faith whatsoever in Tomlin's ability to put together an entire 60 minute gameplan. So even if the first half is competitive, the second half will likely be completely different because the Ravens will go and make adjustments. We'll just have to hope they somehow make the wrong ones.

Ya, I'm THAT hopeless on Tomlin's ability to make 2nd half adjustments. I just pray that the other coaches make horrible mistakes or that we have insurmountable leads or that Ben and the receivers catch fire or that Troy channels a younger version of himself.

I just have to wonder which half we will show up for. Either way, the Ravens are desperate to avoid going 0-2 in the division and are at home. Their half of good football will be better than ours - Ravens 28 Steelers 23

I'm still not sure how the police having it equates to the ravens seeing it or knowing what was on it.

Anyways, this is not the place for this discussion. This is the prediction thread.

First you went from "knowing about it" as in knowing there EXISTED a VIDEO of what happened in the elevator, now you are saying "seeing it, or knowing what was on it". Well, as the casino has said, if it were requested, they would have made it available. If the Ravens didn't know about it, it's for the same reason the NFL didn't know about it, they didn't WANT to know about it. They also didn't want anyone else to know about it. THAT much is clear, from the fact that Ray Rices lawyer knew about it, and it was never released. He tried to imply it wasn't released because it would make Janay look bad (I can look up that bullshit hypothetical intervew with the dickface if you really need it, but given your obvious lack of interest in fact, I doubt it would matter).

Oh, and prediction,

If you want to keep a thread ON topic, then don't reply to the OFF topic stuff. I have no problem going off topic, especially when I'm not in error.

Well, in that case...

First you went from "knowing about it" as in knowing there EXISTED a VIDEO of what happened in the elevator, now you are saying "seeing it, or knowing what was on it"
You can attempt to play the semantics game if you want, but it's completely irrelevant whether they knew about it or not. It's knowing what was on it that matters since they were already sold a version of the events they had no reason to question because the case was closed by all parties involved, including the police. Why would they think they needed to see the tape? And again, I fail to see what Rice's lawyer knew has to do with what the Ravens knew. Would you care to explain that one?

No reason to question since the case was closed. So, the nfl makes it a habit of not investigating these things, so long as the case has been closed. How about when someone isn't even charged, ie, it is found there isn't a case? What happens then? I remember the Rooneys and the Steelers saying they were going to act in the Ben situation even if the NFL did not. No charges filed, and Ben got 6 games, reduced to four. Weren't all the parties satisfied there?

I get it, you liked the fact that Ben got tossed under the bus, so the fact that it was done with no evidence is not relevant. But in this case, there was evidence, and everyone knew there was security footage from inside the elevator. If this had been footage from inside that famed bathroom, would you be ok with the nfl knowing about it, but not asking to see it? I sure as **** wouldn't have been. If that footage existed, it needed to be made public, the owners showed the police that night, but after that the information was lost.

I like a little consistency with a system that's in place to regulate behavior, I guess I'm kind of crazy like that.

Again, Colin Rapernick was accused of sexaul assault this offseason, yet no suspension, no Rapernick nicknames, no front page stories. She's not pressing charges anymore either, but hey, he was accused, same boat, same punishment. Right?

*AHEM*

On the subject of the game: it's very winnable. Baltimore looked like dog **** last week against Cincy.

We may have to score alot of points this season to protect that defense while our rookies get stronger. McCullers and Tuitt will get into the lineup, but it's going to take time for them to learn. Jarvis Jones is simply not a pass rusher, period. So we've got to find other ways, schematically, to slow teams down.

Are we championship material? Probably not. But we can win this division, and it starts with Baltimore this week.

This week should be a good week to keep the winning streak alive.

Here's why:

1. LaDarius Webb may still be out and, if not, he's coming back from injury and Ben isn't afraid to test the opponent's #1 CB...
2. Without the mighty midget in the backfield - we should be able to shut down the running game of a "known back" in the league. Forsett and Pierce didn't even put up 100 yards combined on the Bengals. Watch the tape, fellas...
3. Bert threw the ball SIXTY TWO times last week!!! He completed 56% of those throws - Ben threw it 34 times completing 23 throws (68%). I'll stick w/ Ben having the better game...

With that being said...
