--------------------------------------------ANSWER in winner post------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the good stuff, As seen in NY Times, front page Wall Street Journal, Commented on by Hustler Magazine, Better Cooking with Betty,...................................................
ANSWER is TRUE: BACK STORY I can't remember the year, but it was a game at Three River Stadium. Ravens were in town and Kordel Stewart was sacked 5 times during that game. My then wife and I attended using FREE tickets from Federated (good seats too). There is a lot of incidentals but I will get right to the heart of the story.
----- Up Date: After the game was over, we did usual things around stadium while exiting. We eventually found the door the players / staff came out of to leave. I got several players autographs and some great inter-action with Kordel himself (save this for another story).
----- Eventually the crowd thins way down, being about 3hrs after the game was over. There was about 30-40 people there when Bill Cowher himself came out. Everyone wanted auto graphs. They said to line up and Coach Cowher would give as many as he could.
----- I knew from reading up that Bill was a very good to the fans coach and usually stayed an signed everyone's autograph. I was about 1/2 way in the line but kept giving my place up and falling back. It was down to about 4 of us and I stepped back to let these two older ladies ahead of me and also this guy that just wanted the autograph.
----- Coach Cowher noticed my Gentlemanship and when it got to my turn (im the last), I asked if I could get a picture together and he said heck yes. He asked where I was from and I told him...... he said he had never heard of a fan from that state coming to see the steelers.
----- His daughter meghean and his wife were there, and he introduced them to me. We talked for about 15-20 minutes and only 2 or 3 were football. Bill Cowher is truly a good person and kind human being.
----- I did ask him that if I sent the picture to him and a short note reminding him, if he would sign it. He said yes and I asked if he would sign it
"My name" thanks for the 1/2 time adjustments
your friend Bill
He said just put it in the note and he'd be happy to. BUT alas, one thing lead to another and I just never got it sent to him. No worries as I'll forever cherish my time and picture with Coach Cowher.
Thank You for reading my stories and hope for the betterment of us all.
Thank You to slash for the prizes / postage / time to keep track and mail mout, THANK YOU SIR
