We already have a fair share of fire Mike Tomlin threads, but this want perhaps has a more realistic chance of happening.

Why he needs to go.

1 Run D is has declined to atrocious. Lack of gap control , is a quick way to lose games. As instead of 3rd and long it is third and short for opposing teams. And that is when they aren't running wild down the field.

2 Pass rush. Regardless if it is the players or the scheme or both. It just isn't effective, and painful to watch.

3 A new D coach will I would think bring his choices for defensive assistants with him. Ironic the three areas of often fail comes from ex-players that have very little experience at the position coaching. ILBer, OLBer, and Secondary, The D-line coach is the only one worth retaining, and hell even that probably wouldn't hurt to have a refresher.

4 A new D coach can tell the D all jobs are open and put his stamp on which players to keep and which ones to let go. Hell I will even give him some choices. Moats,Jarvis, and Mitchell seeya don't wanna beya. Deebo thank you for your time here, many fond memories.

5 A new D coach can bring in with him a desired scheme, because a identity is greatly needed on defense. And the majority of D schemes they have run, are hot garbage.

6 When Haley was brought in it helped the O improve. He has his bone headed lapses. But more often than not gets the job done.

7 We will not get a 7 with this D coordinator. Perhaps with a competent D coordinator in can offset a mediocre head coach.
