There's no such thing as going on tilt in the war room. They have a board, and they stick to it. It's not like they were like OH ****, They just took our pick! Who can we draft now?? I don't know, throw a Dart!

I'm just surprised they had him rated that high. And so are the rest of us obviously...
 
I'm not sure about Coates. I understand the pick because WR is a need with how much 3 WR sets the steelers use and Coates looks like the last elite prospect at WR. After Coates, all that's left at WR are backup types.

I do think Coates is better than Breshad Perriman who the ravens took in the 1st.

I would feel better if they took CB Josh Shaw from USC just because the secondary sucks so bad, but Coates is a first round talent that's raw.
 
And Del, the Ravens LOVE your draft board. Damn near hit BPA each time!
 
Sammy Watson was a name thrown around in regards to Coates...as far as physical attributes. I was thinking Chris Conley or Stephon DIggs as far as recievers, looks like Coates is our man. Slides into a 4th WR role next season, sounds like an asset in the running game as well. We'll see if he pushes Wheaton,,,Big Ben will be happy hitting the sack tonight....another tool in the tool shed.
 
Did Patriots really get a 3rd comp pick for Blount?
 
If the Steelers can do anything with tombert its draft wr's so I'm not going to question the pick. Two out of three ain't bad I suppose
 
And they pick up Vrabel 2.0 in Grissom. He's a LB/TE
 
Thanks Steeler Nation for providing much better entertainment value than the espn coverage. Discussion was better and covered what was of interest to me instead of talking about QBs that so and so thought should have been drafted instead and tossing that stupid gay horse on a beach commercial over and over.

I hope the guys we picked work out well for us but so far I like one pick we made and will hope the other two exceed my expectations.:night:
 
Screw the Rats. I like what we've done so far. Don't be too hard on Golson, this guy can play. He played against the best competition in the SEC and was 2'nd team SEC. 10 Interceptions in that conference is not too shabby. If he's two inches taller he's not there in the 2'nd round, trust me. I think this guy is the playmaker we've needed and will immediately help this team.
 
What if the steelers did get Maxx Williams? Do they still takes Coates in the 3rd? They'd probably be forced to take a CB.

Maybe the Ravens trading up for Williams is a blessing in disguise as it may have meant the steelers didn't take a DB until RD 4 and that would be a bad draft.

I think they could've traded back out of the second to the early 3rd and still gotten golson or carter and probably getting an extra early 5th
 
Who you think we take in the 4th? Clemmings unless they think he's medical flag is too big. Jesse James? Ifo Ekpre-omolu if they like his tape and progress since injury.
 
HATE our rd2 pick. Worst pick since archer. Should have traded up.FO is full of *******
 
I absolutely LOVE how every year at this time folks start talking about how they could have or should have traded up/down .... as if 1) they were working the draft for the Steelers and absolutely, positively know for a fact that no attempt was made. Which, if I'm not mistaken, reports were that they did try to trade up in the second and couldn't get a deal done (possibly because they weren't willing to trade away the farm). And 2) As if if just wishing for a trade makes it feasible.

Btw, for those talking about how the Ravens hosed us in the second (which they did), it appears that all they could do in the first was sit back and watch helplessly as the Steelers took the player they wanted (Dupree).
