Odds That Rudolph Gets Traded?

I think someone will have a qb injury and will give us a fifth for him… again his stats aren’t as bad as people make them out to be.
Maybe, but unless I'm wrong (entirely possible), I believe the Duck started a game or 4 that Rudolph could have.

I'm guessing Rudy will be on the roster for the entire year. He'll be #2 throughout. Trix will be #3 in case of injury or they need a spark.

Hmmm….not sure what the market value would be for a trade. Baker going for a conditional 5th round to me made Rudolph’s trade value even less possibly-I could be wrong. I think him being released and picked up by someone else is a stronger chance, but Garoppolo has a chance to be released prior to opening day. Maybe they sit in Rudy and he becomes trade material by the trade deadline mid season to a team with a QB need that lost their QB to injury.

a "proper" line of thinking...........................

The longer we keep him, the more value he get draw in a trade, IMO.

His showing in pre-season will determine a lot of his value as well.

Bakers trade value was weighted down by an 18 million dollar guaranteed contract… even after the browns ate some of it and he gave some up, it still was a big contract that you couldn’t get out of if you want to cut him

Baker would be our 8th highest paid player at his discount rate… and of that nearly 5 million dollars every penny is guaranteed … if we traded Rudolph he would cost a team 3 million in cap space and none of it would be guaranteed.. we would eat a million dollar signing bonus …

If baker had the contract flexibility and cap hit Rudolph did, he would have been worth more… with his potential locker room baggage, being able to be cut with no penalty is a big selling point

Did anyone happen to hear this report? The only reason I could anticipate Rudolph starting the season is if the team wanted to cement itself as a mediocre team and provide the fans with zero excitement.
I heard the entire interview. "Wex" always has good takes. First, he "modified" his earlier opinion re Rudolph emerging as the starter.

But..he says there's little chance they'll trade him because Tomlin & Co. value him as an experienced backup. (And his salary isn't a big deal.) He believes there's no way they go into the season with Pickett as No. 2. And he's not that gung-ho on Trubisky.

The bottom line: Anything can happen at QB as the season progresses.

There's no reason to trade Rudolph this year. People forget how much coaches value the "QB room". Rudolph is the only QB on the team with experience in Canada's offense. He can be a positive in the room, helping Trubisky and Picket get up to speed.

Are they going to carry 3 QBs? That is the only question and I would guess the answer is no, they won't carry 3 QBs on the active roster.

You are correct. Duck finished the week 5 game due to a Rudolph injury and then started week 6.
Rudolph returned after the week 7 bye.
Duck replaced Rudolph in game 12 and started weeks 13-17. Tomlin used both in week 16.

Odds that Rudolph gets traded before the regular season?
I'm hearing yes and no in the media. Barring injury to any of the QB's I say it's 80/20 that he's outta here.
Probably not.

He’s a serviceable backup and the other two guys are questionable as to what they can do now.

I’m hoping Canada’s offense isn’t Canada’s offense. If they trot out the same garbage as last season, it’s not going to matter who the QB is.

Except Canada's offense sucks so I'm not sure that's a positive.

So far, based on performance, who's the best QB in camp?

Rudolph stays this year, and sees the field a few times.

I have said it before I want Rudolph to play lights out this preseason and win the starting job just to watch the glorious meltdown so many fans will have. The entertainment value will be off the charts. He gets so much unwarranted **** from so many.

So far so good. He had apparently done well yesterday while the other two struggled. And I agree that the criticism of MR was over the top.

That said I'm rooting for either of the other two to outperform MR just so we can say that the Steelers knew what they were doing.

I'm going to wait for at least 3 practices before passing judgement.

I'd like to see Rudolf absolutely tear it up and justify his perceived FO pedigree. Wouldn't that be amazing if he started the season and made it through a winning SB ???

I for one would be on board regardless of fall out.

im rooting for MR because the ******* hate for MR in this place is stupid.

MR earning praises day 2.
“All the receivers say he’s [Rudolph] one of the most accurate quarterbacks. It’s crazy how accurate he is. He doesn’t get enough praise and attention. He’s just as in the running as each of those guys.”

That is what I was hoping they'd be saying about Pickett.
