Notes , goats, and antidotes. Post asterick victory !

I lost faith in this team after last week, and even when we couldn’t pull away in today’s game.. I’m happy to eat crow on my pessimism..

Major props to Jay Sam and Washington and Rogers.. we so badly needed other weapons besides Conner/AB/JuJu/Vance to step up, and they did so in a HUGE way today

Major props to the defense who, besides the one embarrassing play (due to Artie inexplicably being on the field), was spectacular

I would really like an explanation on that one. I mean like whatever at this point but it saved them a timeout. As I remember it was an off tackle run left and he stayed in bounds. I'd really like to see an explanation on that.

Me too but I can't re-watch until tomorrow......... What was the clock time at that time???? Quarter???

Salute the nation

Also, why wasn't there a 10-second runoff for the false start with 33 seconds left to play?

I will look closer as I have the game recorded. Not sure....

After Jaysam made that critical third down catch ( 3rd and 9) where Ben scrambled, NE called a time out.

When you watch the game and see some of the great plays made, how in the world do you not blame coaching when you blow three in a row.

A special game and outcome. I am personally not looking back or ahead.

I am enjoying the moment.

How sweet it is.

Lost in all this euphoria is the fact that this game, could have meant a bye and possibly home field if it were not for those inexcusable losses. And we all know how good this team is on the road don't we.

Sorry, I am happy as hell the finally beat those ******** but I won't let this team hoodwink me into thinking anything is going to be different from here on out.

But those kind of thoughts are better for another day or not?

Enjoy the ******* win Steelersnation.

For once it was new England shooting themselves in the foot with penalties. I think this was a rare day when the refs actually called it fair, and maybe even had ratings in mind for the playoffs.

I did appreciate the defense attacking and letting the DB's play. That is the best way to beat Brady. Bend but don't break gets you killed vs New England.

Watt and Haden were excellent. The Run D is a little soft.

On offense Samuels was fantastic. We could have something special here, and if his ball control is as good as I hope, dare I say he's a better option to win with over Conner? Maybe the fresh legs later in the season made the difference. Either way, the man can play.

Ben is going to be Ben. He's not going to have many games where he throws it 40 times without interceptions. Cough up a fumble in a game like this, and you lose more often than not.

Samuels is a third down type back... conner is a true running back... its no surprise that our red zone offense gets stupidly good with a conner type in there rather than a Bell/Samuels type... they are great weapons down to the twenty and the ability to line up as a wr and run real routes is great, but you still need a actual rb type sometimes....

That may have been the play of the game.

That, and Brady throwing the ball four feet too high on 4th down at the end.

There was. Not only did they not restart the ball on the whistle, they were a couple seconds after the snap.

Depends on whether the clock was running when they committed the penalty.

I hear you. They won despite all the same problems: Tomlins brain dead challenge, more **** clock management at end of first half, Ben's illtimed INTs, the inexcusable insertion of Artie Burns into the lineup, and yet another Boz miss. Uncharacteristic Pat penalties and mistakes really aided them.

But a win against the hated Cheats is always worth celebrating, even if the whole season doesn't get righted.

there wasn't a false start at 33 seconds...the second down play was a incomplete pass and offensive holding was called. that set up the play that started at 33 seconds and it was another incomplete pass on 2nd and 15

Am i correct that there was a major clock miscue after the Samauls catch with inder three minutes to go? Cant see anything online about this, but a NE panalty stopped the clock amd it was declined and the clock never restarted.

if you are talking about the play where Ben rolled right and hit Samuels for the big first down....NE had called a time out with 2:58 left.

The penalty was after that after his run on the next play. a holding call on a 12 yard run by Samuels..but I believe the rule is that under five minutes the clock doesn't restart until the snap if a penalty is called...even it is declined...except for pre-snap penalties on the offense.....

Yeah that just came up on the Sunday night game. God this league has some crazy dumb rules. Why would an unaccepted penalty stop the clock.

Onto Boz, I’m sure coach will have a thread on this but....does this kick save him? The first kick was horrible. Unless the hold was bad or something I missed, horrible. Point being. Do we trust him over someone else? I have to say I want someone else. **** the money

You only say **** the money, because you are not paying it.

An amount will be paid for someone to kick the Football for the Steelers. It will cost the same or possibly less for it to be someone other than Chris Boswell.

correct, the team survived 2 int, a blown coverage TD and a missed FG. This team could be a juggernaut if they just put their heads out of their *****, that's what's so frustrating.
