Non-Steeler Free Agency thread

Raiders making moves to counter that Bronco pass rush. Certainly not Al's Raiders anymore.

Also rumored that they are interested in Doug Martin

The Raiders are going to be a tough team. Carr's a great young QB, Cooper's a star at WR, and they have talent on defense. They may not be ready this coming year, but they will be a challenge.

the competition in their Division has leveled out some too.

Owen Daniels was just released by the Donks

Malik Jackson to the Jags for about 15m a season.

$15M a season? That's freakin nuts!

Heh. One trick pony just released by Vikes.

Most of these Jaguar contracts are for straight cash with little to no signing bonus, essentially pay as you go. The Jags were one of the poorer teams in the league so they tend to not hand out large signing bonuses.

Oakland has money they are feeling good. Flaco redid contract to sign some of the free Birds.

Jacksonville has to pay these guys a lot so that they can hit the minimum for the salary cap. They have like 69 million in cap space or something absurd.

Raiders are making moves. Apparently they are going to sign Bruce Irvin.

**Wow, didn't scroll far enough to see 81's post.

Derek Wolfe must be kicking himself. Signs an extension with the Broncos for 4 years $36.7 million then watches Jackson hit FA and get a 6 years $90 million deal. Elway got a steal there.

I think I read like 90 million actually.

Mario Williams to the dolphins 2 years contract. FA champions ...

The Raiders have to spend money under the CBA.

12m/yr to Janoris Jenkins from the giants.

Phins and Eagles trade squashed. Phins worried about Maxwell's injuries

Marvin Jones is reported to be going to Lions. Will be interesting to see how damaged Bengals end up in free agency.

Alex Mack - C - Falcons

Falcons signed C Alex Mack, formerly of the Browns, to a five-year contract.
MMQB's Peter King reports the deal is worth $9.5 million per year. Mack reportedly could have made more by staying in Cleveland, but the allure of Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan was a factor. Mack played for Shanahan in Cleveland and is a great fit in his blocking scheme. With Mack on board, the Falcons will turn their attention to the hole at right guard. They have been linked with J.R. Sweezy.

Osweiller to the Texans

Report: Texans, Brock Osweiler agree to 4-year, $72M deal
Caitlyn Holroyd Mar 9, 2016 15:08
The Denver Broncos are in the market for a new quarterback.

Brock Osweiler is leaving the team after four seasons, agreeing to a deal in principle with the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network's Rand Getlin.

Osweiler is joining the Texans on a monster four-year contract worth $72 million, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It was reported earlier Wednesday that the Broncos "ramped up" their efforts to retain Osweiler before free agency officially opened, but it appears they were unable to meet the offer he was able to land elsewhere.

"This is not a surprise. It was clear to John (Elway) last week that (Osweiler) didn't want to be here," a source told NFL Network's Jeff Darlington.

Elway "drew a line in the sand" on an offer in the mid-$16 million per year range with $30 million guaranteed, Darlington reports.

Osweiler saw the most extensive action of his career last season with seven starts. He posted a 5-2 record, completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,967 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.
