Last week there were positives. They really played hard and pulled out a win on the road. This week there is nothing positive at all. The whole organization should be ashamed

What did they play, about 20 minutes decent football?

It used to be that a primetime game would wake this team up and they'd play at least 45 minutes (60 is too much to ask, even in a playoff game).

Primetime, home game, biggest rival - YAWN!!!! We're the steelers, wake us when the playoffs start.

And I don't want to hear that the ravens are some great team. They aren't. All they did was play hard.

What i saw tonight is a bunch of guys real comfortable in their jobs. A bunch of mercenaries happy to just phone it in for a paycheck.

Does Ben give a **** anymore? Sure didn't look that way. The worst was when they got the ball back after the ravens went up 9 with around 4 minutes left and needing 2 scores to win. This was the time they'd go hurry up and snap out of their funk and drive down the field.

Instead they looked like it was a preseason game. Nobody had any energy. Just real content to lose.

Ben apologized to AB last week when he got mad at AB apparently running a wrong route. Don't apologize, get on him.

Maybe that's the problem. Maybe Ben and the coaches do want to chew out some of these guys but they are snowflakes who can't take any criticism and will shot down if they aren't constantly told they are doing a great job.

Well you're not. you too AB. Guess what, you're not getting open. So shut your ******* mouth. Ben is throwing to you more than he should be. even tonight, you weren't open on that TD. Probably would have been an INT if the DB looked for the ball.

This team has no heart. Nobody.

This defense does not have a single playmaker.

Cam Heyward = average
Tuitt = milk carton
Hargrave - useless
Dupree - make about 1 play per game then just runs around
Vince Williams - not an athlete. Make Larry Foote look like Jack Lambert
TJ Watt - hustle player, good but not great. at least he plays hard
Edmunds - too early to tell
Davis - no football instincts
Haden - good but skills eroding
Sutton - depth player
Burns - dumb as a stump

Maybe your opponent next week will make a shitload of mistakes so you can get off the field.

The frustrating thing is this team does have talent. They just don't play up to it

The talent is mismanaged. They are only doing as coached by the system.
As a result they look mediocre to average at best.

The common denominator to it all is Tomlin.
Someone posted earlier even with all these different coordinators through the years and it's the same **** show.

I think fundamentally they are the worst Defense in the NFL. Can't tackle, can't cover, can't pressure the QB. As for the players on Defense....the only guys I think that are worth anything are Cam Heyward, TJ Watt, Joe Haden & Sean Davis (this kid has shown some good improvement this season) Everyone else is complete garbage! I don't know if it's scheme or players or a combination of both but Bud Dupree is garbage and so is Artie Burns....throw Jarvis Jones on that mix and that's three First Round draft picks that are complete garbage and add in Shazier's injury and we have 4 #1 Draft picks that really have hurt us.

Exactly - they do have talent. If an entire NFL defense *all* looks like mediocre players, it’s because they’re not being schemed and called correctly. I refuse to believe that all those players are just lacking skills. Nope. They are being coached into the ground

And once again, the steelers come out completely flat and go into an early 14-0 hole. This is a coaching issue because it now happens all the time. It tells me that the initial gameplan is usually wrong combined with players not playing hard until they feel like they have to.

Why does it seem like every week the steelers are caught off-guard by their opponent?

If i'm playing the steelers, I thrown deep on first and second down. There a good chance you get a blown coverage and an easy big play. And if you don't then on 3rd and 10, you just throw to the wide open guy over the middle and move the chains. Then throw deep on 1st and 2nd down again. You'd probably put up 50 doing that.

Blasphemous...... to speak of our team like that...... but mostly true.

After the D gave up the quick 14 they really shut the door and gave the offense many chances. I know people say the D can't get off the field, but when your offense is going 3 and out they get no rest. We had less than 50 yrds offense in the second half. That is pathetic. The Ravens D is not THAT good. I am all for canning the whole staff. whatever we have is not working and they are unwilling to adjust.

Nobody cares, soft, no discipline, stale scheme they don't have the talent or brains the run. It's been the same **** for over 5 years. They look rather disinterested. All on the coaching and what mentality is allowed. And were stuck with it for God knows how many more years.

We are stuck with it until Tomlin is gone or this team changes ownership. I for one am done watching this crap as long as Tomlin is coach. I might tune it for a few games just to get the gist of it but I'm done watching this team stink up the place week in and week out. I have better things to do on Sunday afternoons - wash the car, mow the lawn.

Talking to a friend last night while watching, agreed this team has no heart.

We're spoiled thinking they should be a playoff contender every year, but it appears this entire team has quit.

Skills, motivation, coaching? You tell me, because something isn't right.

Tomlin in his presser stated that he doesn't look at patterns. The Rooneys need to wake the F up. I said it years ago that this coach administration would ruin the organization. Maybe we need to get like the rest of the world and resist

I'm not losing sleep over it anymore that's for sure. This record is scratched and it's stuck repeating the same line over and over.

It is that you examine the moves this team makes and none of it is endearing.

Washington although early isn't showing he can be your deep threat, so instead of bringing in a third option to go with Juju and Antonio, nothing.

I think Foster is regressing, so the holes in the running game aren't as big as they once were.

Ben isn't the Ben of old he has turned into hot and cold Ben.

Even with the ****-show of free agency they threw at us, the coaching staff is simply worse.

You can't play D, you can't run effectively, you can't make X and O good decisions during the game, you have no deep threat to complement AB.

The whole MB and Bell **** show wasn't handled correctly.

Lot of can't = can't win.

I wonder how long before Rooney makes a ******* change.

Why do we have to sit through **** after **** before any changes are made?

What the **** is wrong with the people making the decisions at the top?

****

I know there have been calls for Tomlin to be canned. At this point, it's difficult at best to argue against it. However, who do you replace him with?
Can't say Munchak since he's responsible for Villanueva's regression and team-tying 3 penalties this season.
Sure as **** can't be Butler.
Fichtner? not a chance in hell.
Mitchell? no way.

At this point, I'd show Butler the door. His defense is an absolute travesty. It's not like we don't have talent on defense, we do. We have a lot of speed and youth on d. What we don't have is someone calling the right coverage and putting these guys in the best places to utilize their individual talents to make the team the best it can be.

Give Munch the keys today and ride out the year looking for ways to improve and perhaps, big perhaps, interest Ben in staying. Bring in Todd Wash following the season. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Wash

I would offer Cowher so much money he would have to come back

I don't think Cowher could solve what ails this team. The NFL is not what it was 10 years ago. I think Gruden is finding out how hard it is to be away from coaching for years and try to get back into it.

We have not one leader. Watching Tomlin after the game run across the field with his butt in his hand and his concern was to mingle with the Ravens players as if they were buds was enough for me. This team has no desire, a lot of talk from the coach but no players and in four games we are lucky we won one. We ran a offensive coordinator out of town but what do we have now the same play calling, same lack of imagination. We ran a defensive coordinator out of town and we have a defense that has gotten worse. can't get off the field, can't tackle give up way more yards after contact and lack technique or ability to pass cover. The specialty coaches have taught nothing to these players as we witness every game so far. It is hard to watch and nothing indicates we will be getting better. Last night not once has Tomlin put in a new player if another is not getting it done, Conner's did little last night but Tomlin did nothing to spark a lack luster running game. We threw to TE's once in awhile when in all reality they were the ones that made some key plays. Something is wrong and you have to look at the head coach, someone needs to make a statement that this play is not acceptable, either fire a coach or fire a player, something to get a fire under this team. Obvious whatever Tomlin is doing is not working.

I'm not sure he'd want to give up his cushy TV gig. He'd have to build this thing from the ground up by drafting players who will only know his way. Anyway you slice it they need a hardass no frills coach and he will need to change the entire culture in order to recapture what we all want to see. It's going to take 3-5 years at least.

I would rather bring in a X and O, NFL D or O coordinator.

We need a coach who knows how to make adjustments.

Let’s not forget our record setting, league leading penalties.

A positive- macDonald is making plays and last night he again had a nice play where he ran over a defender.

I live in market so I've had a sorta front seat to Coughlin returning and rebuilding Jacksonville. I knew it would happen since he was their inaugural coach, and he essentially blue printed the Steelers, and they beat us annually. Thing is, he got run out on the rails by the what really were Florida gator fans (all we had) when things went south, went to NY and won a few SB's. Got run out of there.

Fast forward to 2016, he returned as Exec. VP of football and in 3 seasons has saved an interim head coach, saved Bortles, revamped a defense, and turned around a franchise being considered for a move to LA. Selling tix to a new generation of fans.
They win with defense, the blue print of old Pittsburgh.

Make no mistake, you have to pick early in the draft a few years to rebuild like the jags have but a 3 year window and a new culture is plenty nowadays. But they built their defense from the line on back. Picked up Calais Campbell in FA and dealt us Alualu. Shrewd, I wanted Campbell. That D is fun to watch, they want to make plays like they're driven to stop you.

Some would rather we went 5 wide and it looked a few years like that would get 7. Hasn't panned out, not gonna pan out. We need a new culture. A 3 year project with Todd Wash minding the store. He'll be a HC somewhere in 2019, might as well be us. And defense wins championships.
