No one talking about Zach Brown?

Zach Brown - LB - Free Agent

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins and free agent LB Zach Brown are "not close" on money.

That being said, Barry Jackson reports Brown has "by no means" ruled out the Dolphins if "more financially lucrative options do not emerge."

Brown would reportedly play strong-side linebacker for the 'Fins. After leaving Miami without a deal, Brown is meeting with his 2016 club Buffalo. He's reportedly also still open to signing with the Raiders, whom he visited last week.

mercenary, he won't come here

anyone have Colbert's number? If you do, send him a text to get ZB in here. . .

I mean clearly he wants a **** ton of money that he isn't worth. When two teams are far apart from what you're looking for then maybe you should reevaluate your asking price.

ENTITLEMENT ................. Yes sir you are absolutely correct.!!!!

Salute the nation

A player is worth whatever he can trick a douchebag owner into paying him, ZB is just out there floating waiting on said douchebag to come knocking on his door.

And he better come down or he might be waiting a long long time.

This is the time yinz say to yourself if they didn't come knocking early, there is a reason.

Probably in the minority here, but Vick offended me more than Krap...That being said I cringed at the sight of Vick in our beloved colors and would at the sight of Krap as well. I'll suffer through the L Jones/Mettenberger/late round-UDFA rookie situation at backup 8 days a week if it means no Krap on this team. **** I would've wiped the dust off St.Pierre/Maddox/Stewart etc before signing Vick

He'd be much better than Vick ever was with us and I would have no issue with him being a Steeler on a personal level. Even though big picture as far as a fit for our system in general, there isn't much of one. He probably needs to realize that torturing dogs, raping, beating women, and drug use are far more acceptable than silently protesting racial issues and move on from football and continue his life's work with his charities.

I'm just concerned about quality depth. If Williams or Shazier gets hurt, we are screwed.

As much as I disagree with Kapornick, what he did was nowhere near as offensive as what Vick did.

Glad there are some rational people left on Steeler Nation

Dude has said repeatedly his protests were not against the military, the "troops", anyone who has died for our country, "America" as a whole, or whatever other fake outrage the conservative snowflakes drummed up. He was protesting mistreatment of black people in America by the police, which is a perfectly valid and just cause, in the most visible way he could find. Protests are supposed to be disruptive and noticeable or else they wouldn't work. So you can disagree with his methods or whatever, but people assigning motivations that Kaepernick himself has denied are just being willfully ignorant and probably an excuse to let out a little hate you've been storing up yourself

Our starters have the position locked up

Steelers ILB Vince Williams is expected to start in 2017

He'll replace Lawrence Timmons, who left to sign with the Dolphins as a free agent.

Ryan Shazier will continue to man the Mack linebacker spot, with Williams stepping in as the Buck.

But this ain't Madden. Zach Brown wants to be a starter and wants to be paid like one. If you bring him in, you have to tell Vince that he's still a backup. And look at how much money you have devoted to the ILB position (Shazier gets paid starting in 2018). I think we'll just have to try to find another Vince Williams in round 5 or 6 in order to feel better about our ILB depth.

agree, but more like a Spence in the 4th-5th. Matakevic is the Vince replacement

I think what he said was BS. If you want to protest the treatment of black folks by police, fine. Not standing for the National Anthem, IMO, isn't the way tot do it. Standing for the National Anthem shows reverence for the flag that gives him the freedom to be an *******. But yeah, it is about conservatives hating on him for some reason, you know, maybe color, maybe not. I'm not saying it IS because of his color, but I am not saying it's not.

Having said that, I'd rather have 22 Kapernicks on my team that one Vick.

and yet they lobbied for a ILBer in free agency

not sure I am buying he has the position locked up.

Maybe out of the gates, but some way somehow he will get some competition either thru the draft or after...........

Still out there, waitting

Zach Brown - LB - Free Agent

The Palm Beach Post reports the Dolphins are doubtful to sign free agent LB Zach Brown.
It leaves the Raiders as his most likely landing spot. Brown has been holding out for more money, but it sounds like he's going to have to settle for a reduced deal.

.

If Vince plays more than 25% of the snaps... we are in trouble (shiver!). I was not comfortable with them courting Hightower... but I would be great with Brown... maybe 4mil a year for 3 years?

He wants a lot more than that, else he would already be signed

I get that... but it seems his choices have been reduced to the Raiders? And maybe the Bills? It s clear that neither team wants to pay his 8 mil a year or whatever he is asking. He played on a one year deal last year and did great... although I understand it was a one-off.

What would you be willing to offer him?

First of all there's no such thing as a conservative snowflake, that term is reserved for folks like you.

Secondly protests are NOT supposed to be disruptive. It is against the law to intentionally block traffic because your ***** didn't become president, or you didn't like the conservative guest speaker at your university.

It is righteous outrage when liberals and conservatives cant sit down together one day a week, put politics aside and watch a goddamned football game without some liberal player needing to make a statement.

Yeah, from this perspective what Vick did was way worse...torturing and killing helpless dogs is worse than the police brutality of black thugs who deserved it. I feel much more sorrow for the real animal over the human one.
Don't you?

As you say it would be great to get him in a 4M deal but even if his expectations haven't been met, it probably would take a couple more millions to sign him and I'd bet he wants long term security, not another one and done.

Wouldn't hurt to bring him in and talk to him. See what he is looking for....seems he is entirely off the Steeler's radar though.

Skins sign him....no details on $ or contract length. Probably over market value
