This is the Tomlin shitshow, and I'm sick and tired of it. Enough with the excuses for this ******* moron. The playcalling in the fourth killed us in this game. He has NO CLUE what he's doing. We haven't won a Super Bowl in 10 years, and we never will with this idiot at the helm. Enough is enough!! We were 7-2-1 and ***** sakes, and now we're on the outside hoping for help from CLEVELAND! What a joke!

I would say he has coached 2 of his beyyer games the last 2 weeks.

His SB was last week, congratulations, it means **** now

He single handedly cost us the game tonight with his retarded fake punt decision on our side of the field with Brees on the other side. ******* stupid beyond belief

I can’t hate on Tomlin too much for this one. They would have drove the field and scored a TD to win with seconds remaining if we punted it. I didn’t hate the fake punt but I would have rather had the ball in bens hands on 4th and 1 and definitely not hand it off to Steven ****** Ridley.

just another bad loss in over a decade with this clown.

I'd have been OK with the call if it had been, say, 4th-and-1, or maybe 2. But not 4th-and-5.

Made no sense.

Running up the middle, while 3 linemen stood and watched Nix fighting instead of pushing him.

LOL... there are always excuses.. I'll share the ones you're going to hear all week:

1. REFS gave the game to NO because the NFL hates the Steelers!!! Pay no attention to the lopsided calls the past two weeks especially when Brady was bitching about the refs.
2. JuJu cost us the game because of his fumble
3. Ridley cost us the game because of his fumble

I'm sure there are more that will come but these will be the top 3. Fact is that the refs did suck but they sucked both ways. They called a holding on NO which made it 3rd and 20 on the last drive. That could have sunk them but pay no attention to that.

Those excuses are just to mask the real issue, and avoid having to blame Tomlin for another piss *** coaching job.

The fake punt was a stupid *** call, no excuse can even be made. We had two players put the ball on the ground against arguably the best team in the league on their field. That cost us the game. The Raiders game, for all intents and purposes ended our season. It took away the ability to lose a game like today. Ben was ridiculously good today, and AB shattered double teams all game long. As great a season as JuJu had, it's unfortunate it'll go to waste and he will be remembered for that play tonight. We haven't made enough plays to be in the playoff's, end of story.

The fake was not a bad call. Brees was scoring no matter what.

Excellent post. The fake was not that bad though. It did lead to our last drive by giving us time. Wish they’d scored sooner. Ben would have won this with more time. Ju Ju’s stretch was desperation, misfortune.

Nah that fake was a dumb ******* call. You don't try to run on 3rd and 5 against the number one run D.

It was ******* stupid.

You don't know that. If that were true then why not let them score as soon as the fake didn't work? So even Tomlin didn't believe that they were going to score or even let them score so why the fake punt? It's a stupid play and has almost zero chance of working. I knew it was a fake as soon as the back flared out. Horrible call.

I don’t know... the fake punt could have been a Great call we’ll never know juju fumbled on a freaky play. Had juju been down we were in field goal range. But we know the defense can not hold in the forth quarter it hasn’t in a few seasons... doesn’t matter if it’s raiders chargers saints even pats, it was a fluke we held n.e. Last week. So giving brees the ball and having it back with enough time left to get a field goal was a gallant try. We simply aren’t going to beat anyone without a defensive overhaul but the coach has to try his best to win and I think Tomlin did try.

No offense but if that is what you remember about Schuster that is to bad. The young man played his *** off all year and especially today, with a groin issue. The only things I will remember is the shiity coaching decisions by Tomlin, Butler and the putrid call by the refs in this game and The SD game as well.

Look, had coach thesaurus punted that ball the way the defense had been playing they may not have scored to take the lead. Once he did that dumb **** we had our shot and we coughed the ball up. When players make bad mistakes in big spots that's what folks remember, just as much as great plays in big spots. I was talking generalities, not my personal opinion of the whole thing. It's a shame they couldn't take care of the ball today or that was a W in the toughest stadium in the NFC.

The fake punt was not a bad call, and I fully understand Tomlin's thinking here. Punt, and New Orleans drives the length of the field in four minutes and the game is over. That defense is not stopping Brees with four downs on every series, and all three timeouts remaining, no matter where the Saints start their drive.

On a fake, you've got two decent possible outcomes:

1) You get the first down, near midfield or better, if it really pops. Then you're in complete control of the game.
2) You get stopped, but give New Orleans a shorter field -- seems bad, but if/when they score quickly, Ben should have enough time left for a final drive to tie or win.

The latter actually happened, and if not for JuJu's fumble, might have worked to perfection.

HOWEVER, once again Tomlin made a gigantic challenge blunder by not throwing the red flag after the Thomas catch/fumble early in the 2nd quarter, with the score 7-6. Thomas catches the ball cleanly, establishes clear possession, and takes a full stride and a second step before Davis separates him from the ball. Why not challenge there? WHY? He had all the time in the world to do so after a "no foul" sequence from the referees.

I cannot fathom why you would not want to at least have them take a look at a game-changing play such as this. Had the play been overturned, the Steelers would not have gotten the ball at the 30, but still would have had it at the 15, where they had a clean recovery.

The only explanation I can come up with was that Tomlin was living in his fears after losing 10 straight challenges. Bottom line is he really ****** his team.

If you are going to call a fake against the number one run defense, you ******* pass it.

It was a stupid call because it was set up to fail.

I do agree, although it's not as if the Saints had their base D out there for a punt formation. I liked the idea of the fake, but not the play call itself.

You're right, it wasn't bad. It was terrible, atrocious, awful, brutal, etc. Absolutely not reason for that call in that situation. Profoundly stupid.
