Carnell needs to attend a Pop Warner clinic to learn how to teach tackling. WTF?

If they don't know how to by now they never will.

I'm beginning to think that Carnell Lake might be part of the problem. He was a great player but as a coach? I don't see any improvement from our DB's as the season goes on. A good position coach like Mike Munchak teaches good technique and the end result is a vastly improved O-line. We haven't seen that improvement with Carnell Lake as our DB coach so IMO he needs to be looked at as part of the problem.

Agree. No way Balwin should have made it home on that last td. Two guys had enough of an angle to launch at his hips instead of high handing him.

I'm more concerned with the lack of coverage. How many third and longs did we give up where there was no coverage at all?

In the 2nd QTR there was three consecutive 3rd & 15's or longer that the Seahags coverted and that led to a TD.

Steelers will look back on that series as one they should have at least stopped them one of those times.

There were problems there, but we have a talent problem in the secondary so at least we should be good at tackling.

Or the tackling issue is the problem of lack of talent also.

Munchak is recognized as the best offensive line coach in the game and has four top two picks on the line, though he has also done great work with Wallace and Villanueva. But Lake serious has no talent to work with. When he first arrived in Pittsburgh, the Steelers improved, but we haven't seen anything in recent years. Keep in mind that Tomlin took a hands-on approach with the defensive backs as well during the offseason.

Seriously, this lost science is fifth grade stuff. Watch the Patriots.

You have a backup SS

and a backup CB starting

and won't bench either

it starts and stops here

contribute to the board before you tell a contributor to go watch another ******* team

cute

and they are the kids

Sure. That's it. As a Contributor, if you wouldn't mind considering an observation from a lowly non-contributor, take a look at how the Patriots secondary tackles tonight.

When they tackled wel there were a bunch of 3 and outs. When they didn't tackle, they gave up easy TDs. Lack of intensity? Fatigue? Injury? Some of these studs need to wrap instead of just throwing a shoulder and hoping for help.

Yes, it is a bend don't break defense that depends on tackling. I am just observing that we are not consistent at a skill that can be coached/reinforced - and does not seem to be.

LOL.. why Lake? When DL was here everybody blamed him. Isn't Butler the DC now? I thought all those horrible 10 yard cushions were gone? I thought his aggressive defense was going to be so much better?

A observation is fine telling a diehard fan to go root for another team is a little childish.

Then calling a 6'6 360 pound man a girl, because you were rustled...... girls pretty big and muscular from where you live are they?

Best you be nice to them if so. ;)

That long TD Blake gave up reminded me a lot of when Ike gave up that OT and pass against Denver when Tebow was QB

Steeler nation, have a good night. Drank way too much. My sentences are choppy this evening

Hell, we can go back to 2008 and Super Bowl 43 when Larry Fitzgerald did the same damn thing late in the game.
