In the latest TV ratings, NBC Sunday Night Football's Thursday-night NFL kickoff game between the Chiefs and Titans Texans averaged 17.1 million total viewers and a 5.5 demo rating in fast nationals, down about 12 percent from the preliminary numbers for last year's season opener.

Not a good sign.

lol here we go. surprised it took this long for this thread to get started today. not surprised at who started it.

"the NFL's folding, guys! they can't GIVE the product away!"

wash, rinse, repeat

The NFL isn't folding Omar, but I think it's clear why the ratings are down. We had a very good match up to kickoff the season. Fans were starved for some action.

very good matchup? um, newsflash Coach, the texans are not going to be all that competitive this season. they'll win 8 games at best this season, the game played out pretty much how i figured it would.

Question. Did you add “Not a good sign” at the end of your post from which you didn’t list the link?

Can you give the demo for Midwest Southwestern markets?

I have a new stalker. Do your own homework. The data is accurate.

Sorry no " demo " for the Midwest / SW markets.

Care to take a guess at why the ratings are down?

I'm surprised with how high the draft ratings were. We'll have to see how the Steelers MNF ratings are. IF those are low, the league will have trouble getting a better TV deal...

Say what you want Omar, the ratings should have been through the roof, no pre-season, nothing but re-runs on TV, and many people still confined to their homes because of perceived fear of the virus.

The ratings from the rest of the weekend will be reveling.

Huge unforced error by the NFL and they lost the moment because of SJW dogma: They should and could have kicked off the season in honor of Covid-19 victims, nurses, doctors, first responders, and the pour souls who died alone in hospitals and nursing homes. They could have celebrated the fallen and the significance of football to the American psyche and healing because that's what sports have always done.

Instead, they celebrated the fallen hooligans who couldn't and wouldn't comply with police orders. They created division by playing "The Black National Anthem."

I got pissed off just writing that, I know it will be a long time before I tune in with any interest.

The NFL BLEW IT.

we'll see. i'm not convinced after literally 1 game. i know it's wishful thinking for most of us here to see the NFL get their comeuppance. but let's see how things play out.

Obviously the loss of D Hop was meaningless to the Texans offense. Er, ah, Coach, you did notice that didn't you??? The matchup, per se, was only between two QB's---one w/ a FULL ARSENAL of weapons; the other, meh, not so much. GOOD MATCH UP, LMBO!!!

That is an interesting point. This is the first time we've ever had NHL and NBA playoffs the same night of the opening game. Sports fans could be divided due to the games that mean more in those other sports.
