NFL Network Suspends Several (including Ike) Over Sexual Harassment

I’m
Willing to bet a lot of men would have a valid case against women sexually harassing them as well... but they won’t come forward because their wives would probably kick them to the curb, even if they did not pursue anything.

I don't suppose we'd be lucky enough that Cris Collinsworth did anything like that and gets fired, huh?

ESPN got hit today too McNabb was on of the people suspended ..

I've just about had enough of this sexual harassment ****. Ya I'm sure some of it is legit, but I'm sure much of it is jumping on the bandwagon snowflake horse doodie.

Racist,...err I mean sexist. It’s the new thing come on get with the times.

Never reported it while employed by the network. I'm guessing someone is looking for a payday. The thing to remember is sexual-harassment is always subjective to the female's point of view. One minute she's one of the guys cracking dirty jokes with the rest of you, and the next she's filing a complaint with HR. The best thing to do is to have zero interaction with females in the workplace outside of your official duties.

Yep. I'm in HR and as a warning to all, she could be smiling and laughing along, and then turn around and report you and it would be legitimate. You can be telling a joke to another guy and think you are alone, but if someone overhears you, you can be reported as well. If you want to keep your job, keep all talk and interactions strictly about work.

I said it in another thread, over the course of 4 jobs and 20 years, I've had my *** grabbed at work by women on probably 20 occasions and once straight up had my junk grabbed in front of multiple people. It ain't just men as opposed to what you hear and read everywhere. It's that men don't make a huge deal out of it or report it because sexual innuendo and overtones at work aren't all that troublesome to 95% of men.

you mean to tell me that *GASP*...men and women are NOT one and the same??? God help us all!!!

Huh? Based on what?

Based on the extramarital affair he had on his wife. Caused a divorce (if memory serves) then I'm not sure if he is still with the same woman...............

Yep, and somewhere nearby was Ernie Adams, helping him to cheat better.

You can do that but if a woman wants to nail you to the cross, all she has to do is say you did something.... that’s it.... and your ruined. That is where we are now. The ****** up thing is that it’s all completely subjective. You could say something like ..” That’s a really nice outfit “ or “You’re hair looks really pretty” and if the woman you’re speaking to takes it wrong.... you’re ******.

If you are a woman working in a male domintated field or workplace, then you better learn how to deal with men and their behavior(s). If you for one second doubt that you can, go elsewhere. I've always had many male friends. I have more guy friends than I do girl friends. I've always felt more comfortable with guys. I talk just as much **** as they do, am as coarse as they are, and can get pretty perverted in a conversation. When I am around females, I have to watch what I say- not that I am coming on to them, but that I can't make jokes about stuff that I can joke about with the guys. That being said- if I tell a female co worker that I like her hair, it's OK. But a male can't say the exact same thing. I don't understand.

I think this is all the rage now and will soon be replaced with other scandals

HR would be required to investigate, that is certainly true, but under Federal laws and the vast percentage of state laws, the harassment must be severe or pervasive to be actionable. That minimum level of conduct is much, much higher than a few jokes, particularly jokes where the coworker laughed.

For example, in a case entitled Kortan v. California Youth Authority (9th Cir. 2000) 217 F.3d 1104, the plaintiff alleged she was subjected to sexual harassment by her supervisor, who he referred to one female as a “regina,” and said that the woman “laughs like a hyena.” He also referred to a former assistant superintendent as a “madonna,” “regina” and a “castrating *****.” In the same conversation, the supervisor referred to women generally as “*******” and “histrionics.” The plaintiff alleged that the supervisor countermanded her orders, falsely criticized her work product, and gave her a negative performance evaluation, all due to her gender.

The employee complained about the supervisor's behavior, and after the complaint the supervisor started to give her “the looks” and to stare at her instead of smiling, as he had before. The supervisor told the plaintiff, “All this time, I assumed you were ‘Artemis' ... I made a mistake, and you are not ‘Artemis.’ You are ‘Medea.’ The employee also heard the supervisor laughing outside her door, saying “Yeah, she got me on sexual harassment charges. Ha. Ha.” (Kortan, supra, 217 F.3d at 1107.)

Beginning February 2, 1994, the supervisor also created a hostile work environment by using racist and sexist terminology, and that after complaining about his conduct, the plaintiff was given a lowered performance rating, had a temporary transfer request denied, and had been threatened with disciplinary action if she spoke about the allegations. (Kortan, supra, 217 F.3d at 1108.)

The trial court dismissed the lawsuit without allowing it to go to a jury, finding that "though supervisor's sexually-related comments about women were offensive, the conduct was not frequent, severe, or abusive enough to interfere unreasonably with plaintiff's employment, as required for Title VII sexual harassment claim." (Kortan, supra, 217 F.3d at 1113.)

In short, a harassment claim is more difficult to prove in civil litigation than most believe.

Fire all women from all sports shows immediately - it's the only way to be sure they won't be harassed
You know I am a woman and I totally agree with you...I never thought it was okay putting them in there.... I just think they are comfortable making little touchy feely comments and when either their careers are on the downward spiral, they "Trump up" false allegations of sexual harassment...but with our unmentioned president...I believe he did those things. And get rid of female referees...soon she will be saying a player grabbed her inappropriate, while the player is falling or in midst of a play.

In the current environment it is only a matter of time before a team gets gutted. Like can you imagine if Brett Favre was a top qb now and that happened. Oh Santa all Im asking for Christmas is to let it be the Patriots.
If I am correct their we're allegations of Brett Favre and a female reporter.

Yeah there were but his carreer was at end and I believe he was injured so they did nothing. And I think it was a team masseuse.
