NFL clears Harrison, Peppers, Matthews in PED probe

The NFL released the following statement Wednesday, clearing James Harrison, Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers in its investigation into PED allegations made in an Al Jazeera America documentary last year.

"The NFL found no credible evidence that Pittsburgh's James Harrison and Green Bay's Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers were provided with or used substances prohibited under the NFL-NFLPA Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances following a comprehensive investigation into allegations made in a documentary by Al Jazeera America, it was announced today.

"The three players participated in interviews last week at their team facilities.

"Initiated in January, the investigation was led by the NFL's security and legal teams with support from expert consultants and other professionals. The investigation involved witness interviews, a review of relevant records and other materials, electronic research, and laboratory analysis and review."

Around The NFL will have more on this news soon.

how much is Deebo fined... I mean "billed" for the NFL's expenses?

I still gotta think if it was just Deebo by himself and not involving players from other teams that Rog would have stretched it out longer.

It's hard to afford gas for the yacht when you're only making $35 million a year, he's due for a big pay bump next year now that the NFL is no longer non-profit and won't have to disclose his wage.

What a complete waste of time for all involved.

The NFL stated that they found no credible evidence. So would that not be the case BEFORE they interviewed those guys? What was the purpose of the interviews? Hoping one of them would confess to taking PEDS?

Somewhere in the dark corner @ NFL HeadQuarters Fuhrer Goodell continues to poke, stab, twist and stomp James Harrison's voodoo doll!

Dog and pony show for Goodell and cronies.

whew
what a dodged bullet! i was really sweating that one out. i mean..al jazeera? wow. lucky to be cleared from such a reputable source!

And the wrongful accusation lawsuit from James Harrison will now be filed in 3......2.......1........

**** Goodell

I think t*mmy b*y has beaten you to it. It was all nice in the beginning until t*mmy b*y made a fuss. Godell showed t*mmy b*y who was boss durring the inflate gate fiasco. Now t*mmy b*y is back to being "rog's" *****. New hair dew and all.............

**** godell & the CHEATRIOTS !!!!!!!

Salute the nation

Everyone already knew the "report" was discredited so why even have these "interviews?" I don't get why they even bothered. What a collection of morons.

Based on how long the interviews lasted and the quick turnaround with their "findings," they held them just for the sake of holding them, almost like they felt the need to. I'm with you, there was no need to pursue anything.

The thing I'm confused about is they were compelled to cooperate with an NFL investigation that can only be initiated if the NFL recieve "credible evidence" to open a file.
So if, in the end they are cleared because of a lack of credible evidence, how the hell can they initiate the investigation and threaten players with suspension for non-compliance?

They threatened them under the best interest of the league clause that lets them do whatever they want for the leagues image.. Total bullcrap.. The next cba needs to fix this and not at acost to the players either... Just blatently unfair
