NFL Blackmailing State of Texas

The NFL should worry more about football issues, such as defining what a catch is.

I think you just answered your own question...business. LGBT community is (probably) the only "demographic" the NFL hasn't touched...commercially.

The NFL needs to remember that there is still that anti-trust deal hanging out there... there seems to be OTHERS willing to play hardball!

I hate to generalize but I'd assume a large portion of the LGBT community couldn't care less about the NFL. Also, those who would probably already watch. I doubt this move will attract any new fans.

That's just that. At least my opinion. When it comes sports or certain forms of entertainment, leave the political stuff at the door and enjoy the essence of sport as is

As has been said... this is what you get when a LAWYER is running things in the NFL. This is ALL about avoiding litigation or future boycotting and shaming from liberal groups. UGH! Can't we just watch football?

Now the case has moved in a different direction. I’ll quote here from the Washington Blade (motto: we’re gay but we’re not happy) so you can enjoy the whole grit-in-the-panties flavor:

But the new three-page Trump administration brief, jointly Friday filed by Paxton and Justice Department officials withdraws the request for a partial stay pending appeal. Further, the brief calls for cancellation of oral argument scheduled Feb. 17 on that request, asserting “parties are currently considering how best to proceed in this appeal.”

Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, placed the blame of the brief seeking to undermine the transgender student protections squarely with Sessions.

“After being on the job for less than 48 hours, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has signaled his intent to undermine the equal dignity of transgender students,” Griffin said. “Transgender students are entitled to the full protection of the United States Constitution and our federal nondiscrimination laws. It is heartbreaking and wrong that the agency tasked with enforcing civil rights laws would instead work to subvert them for political interests. President Trump must immediately reverse course and direct the DOJ to uphold guidance protecting transgender students.” (Because nothing says quality journalism like reprinting an advocacy group’s press release.)

Well they better decide who they REALLY want to appease because I am willing to bet making the liberals happy will cost them a LOT more money in the long run...As if the election didn't show everyone you piss off hard working conservative America and there still is a price to pay.

And after 40+ years of watching the NFL I am about done with it.
 
Goodell is a politician. He has no spine. All his decisions are based on perceived pressure. He gives Ray Rice 2 games because it was a total non-story. Then the media is outradged when the tape comes out so the coward Goodell then essentially blackballs Rice from the NFL forever. I still think Rice should sue Goodell over that.

Even deflategate, the rumor was that Goodell came down so hard because many owners were pissed that Goodell went so light on the Pats for their many past cheating incidents.

Twitter is now commissioner of the NFL.

Here you have an issue that there is absolutely no reason for the NFL to address. But Goodell sees that people on Twitter applaud activism so he can't resist himself.

No I cannot cause most social justice warriors would take offense. I think "normal" gays would find it funny. Political correctness has just about ruined everything from sports, to nationality. Nothing is....I want to use the term pure. Nothing just isnt right anymore lol
