The most important is the "everything is challengable" suggestion,

But others of note:

The auto ejection rule that includes doing any two things from several jackass moves;

..."From the rule proposal:

Throwing a punch, or a forearm, or kicking at an opponent, even though no contact is made.

Using abusive, threatening, or insulting language or gestures to opponents, teammates, officials, or representatives of the League.

Using baiting or taunting acts or words that engender ill will between teams."

Son of a mother ******* *****. I hope it's not for fans. I yell so much at the fans of the other teams especially the **** stains and rat birds I would be thrown out before I get my first beer inside.

Looks like these are for players only.

You know, the tender little flowers who've been playing competitive football for 10-25 years. They need their ears shielded, I guess.

Eh, I don't know about this. Replay slows the game down enough as it is to encourage coaches or the booth to replay even more plays per game.

Yes, yes and yes.

I also noticed nothing about actually defining what a reception is. Until that rule gets fixed, I don't care about the rest.

They aren't adding MORE replays, they are just trying to make it so you can challenge ANYTHING. For example, a QB scrambles, an OL holds but there is no call and the offense is awarded a first down. You throw the challenge flag, say "98 was held", they go to replay, see the massive jersey grab and pull. No longer a first down but a 10 yard penalty. So you've used a challenge, but the play is called correctly.
 
No touching of the hair or face.
 
Let the coaches and players watch video on the sidelines. Get rid of the headsets all together though. Professional players should know the playbook and be able to call the play and know what their personnel sets are before the game.
 
As for the replay issue. I remember in the late 80's or early 90's (bad memory due to war) there was so much replay it killed the games. That's the reason they got rid of it to begin with. Why would they want to bring that back? Or are they expanding what can be replayed but still leaving the 2 challenge per game, 3 if you get both right system in place? I'm a bit confused on that. If they are going to bring back replay like it was back in the day, the games will be so long and boring that college football ratings will go way up like they did back in the day.

1. Everything "should be" challengeable.
2. Instead of "auto ejections" - how about tightening up on learning the existing rule for ejections and USE IT!!!
3. If a QB "gives himself up" and the defense does not touch him (because we've seen when a player is on the ground and he is "hit" by the defense a 15 yard personal foul was warranted (BS)) - the play should AUTOMATICALLY be CALLED DEAD.

Talk is that coaches will get three challenges, everything can be challenged except uncalled penalties i believe, and all tds and turnovers get a booth review like theydo now...

I read an article that Larry Fitzgerald suggested something like 2 hands on the ball, both feet on the ground = catch. Too simple I guess.
 
The pussification of the league continues.

You thought it was bad in our schools when a boy is kicked out of school for chewing his pop tart into the shape of a gun? Now a football player could be kicked out of a game because "***" or "**** you alice" slips his lips.

Being politically correct got people killed in San Bernadino CA. We don't need it in the NFL.
 
Remember when Woodley got a 15 yard penalty after a perfectly legal sack because he looked back menacingly at the fallen QB. This crap should not be a penalty. Taunting, ok...if you stand over a fallen player I get it, but otherwise get some thicker skin. The wussification of the league continues.

Clear up the catch rule and axe chop blocks and be done with the changes, I can see the argument for elimination of headsets but don't feel it's crucial one way or the other.

As long as Goodell's gets another 20M+ raise I say job well done!

That's how it used to be, and should be, possession, two feet in bounds should be a catch, if you drop it after landing out of bounds it should still be a catch.
Anyone remember the big reception by Mills back in the 1995 AFCC game vs Indy on the sideline near the goal line, under today's rules that is a no catch.
 
It's simple: two hands on the ball, control, two feet in bounds, finish career, enter HOF, hand the ref the ball and its a catch.
 
I don't like the "new" ejection rules. Enforce the rules that exist!

To me, it seems they will be enforced randomly and will put too much emphasis on the official to see exactly who started what; One guy who retaliates to something gets booted but the antagonist gets away with because nobody saw him. Will those infractions be reviewable? Otherwise, this is ******. I see all kinds of homer/league calls happening in favor of you-know-who.
 
A catch: possess the ball in bounds.

It doesn't matter for how long, if the ball stops moving in your hands, you possess the ball. If it pops out an instant later, it's a fumble. Like the arm going forward to indicate a pass, this would make replays very simple to assess. The arm doesn't have to "establish" itself as moving forward. It simply has to move forward with the ball enough to be visible.

Simple, easy.

Also, blockers holding. If you close your hands or hook an arm it's holding. Simple. Easy. But that would run quite a few stumble footed stone shoe wearing QBs out of the NFL. Starting with Brady. Which is why it will never happen.
 
Just wondering but why would one-handed catches not be legal?
 
I don't think people are understanding how insane this conduct on the field stuff is....giving the already baffled officials more power based on SUBJECTIVITY is a HUGE ******* mistake. This has the capability of ruining games based on an official's perception of words and gestures....totally ******.

These players coming up outta college are becoming more and more sensitive and can't handle any of this "verbal" bs. I remember hearing players talk about how John Randle, a Hall of Famer btw, used to say things like how he was gonna kill and eat their children on the field. If THAT wasn't a penalty then, none of this **** should be called now. It's just more pussification in this pc world.
