Never thought I would say this.

Wait, the Chief wouldn't stand for this? The guy that went 39 years without a postseason victory? The same guy that let his buddies coach, trade away draft picks, and cut the likes of Johnny Unitas and Len Dawson? And Dan watched Marino grow up in his own backyard and did nothing to get him drafted. Look, Tomlin has big issues, but the romanticising and crying in here is a bit much.

That’s right. As much as the chief is admired truth be told he ran a terrible franchise for years. What brought this franchise out of the dark ages was son Dan who was a visionary loaded with passion for his team and a true love for the game. The reason why we became a franchise that others wanted to emulate was all do to Dan who was the architect of that Steeler image.
Now that image is being tarnished season after season with Dan’s son Art II at the helm and as I said in another thread, that passion that drove his father doesn’t appear to have been inherited by the son.
It’s a business for Art II who doesn’t eat, sleep and breath Steeler football like his dad. He’s making money and that’s the priority for him.

My point exactly. While the case can be made that Dan brought the Steelers out of the basement, the original premise still applies. Art2 is the 3rd generation and shows all the characteristics of the typical 3rd generation owner, and as such we continue to see the downward slide.

I have to admit I have been watching all day for a Steeler headline that someone has been fired....Nope....All I hear is that our strong point coach (Munchak) is wanted for interviews. Everyone else is safe in the Rooney world. ( disclaimer - I’m not a Munchak for head coach job proponent ).
Tomlin has lost this team...move on.
I appreciate that Butler served his time under Lebeau with the intention of inheriting the crown, but damn, his defenses are a shadow of what DL put on the field.

Lots of heat on the NFL now that 5 of the 7 head black coaches were fired. I know that most here didn't think there was a chance that the Rooneys would move on Tomlin anyway, but it seems almost certain that they won't.

If Tomlin stays and Munchak leaves, I think I’m going to take a break from being a Steelers fan.

Munchak refused interviews last year, but this year is reportedly interviewing, so far, with Denver and Green Bay. Munchak and Elway have the same agent. Here is Villanueva on Munchak -
“Last year I was very adamant about making sure he wouldn’t leave us because I was very selfish,” Villanueva said. “But the truth about Coach Munchak is he is one of the most professional, competent and smart leaders that I’ve ever worked with.

“If the opportunity is right, he could be as successful as any coach in the NFL. Players love playing for him. He’s of a dying breed. He’s not a new-wave coach. He’s an old-school coach that sort of revives this emotion to play football at a very high level. Anyone would benefit from his leadership. I’m extremely happy for him. I hope he makes the best decision for him and his family. I know we’ll be friends forever. Hopefully we can keep him around a couple more years.”

I wonder who Villanueva had in mind when he said "new-wave coach"..

That says a lot. I have to believe Villanueva has been around a few good leaders in his time in the Army so I trust his judgement. I think Munch is gone especially with the way this season went.

Not gonna happen sadly.

I'm tired of all the ****. The Steelers organization needs an enema.

Not sure Rooney will get rid of the constipation.
