Very underrated corner. Media snubbed him but Steelernation sure knows his value! Damn sure glad the Steelers brought this corner they couldn't afford in and signed him to the richest free agent contract that they never do. [emoji16]

He's been a great signing for sure. I didn't think he was going to be this good. Our D should even be better in 2020.

Just hope he can be really good. And really lots of potential!

I have a cheifs fanatic friend who bad mouthed Nelson when he was leaving the cheifs. Said we are getting a bucket of chyt. I just countered by saying maybe a change of scenery is what the kid needs. Low and behold..................... Cheifs fan is pretty quiet on the subject.

I am VERY glad we got him and was at the time of signing as I felt that change of scenery will help him in a big way.

I don't think Nelson is a secret, other teams knew all about him and didn't throw his way. When they did they didn't like the outcome.

the guy just shuts rivals down, I couldn't care less if he didn't get the ints last season as he was always there playing the ball so you know those ints will come sooner than later.

Well he didn't let up a TD last year, so that's better than INTs in my book. They will come eventually, when a QB tries to force the ball his way.

He's a solid #2 corner, who probably would not be as good on other team. Our pass rush makes it easier to cover.

Good Coverage makes an aggressive pass rush possible. it works hand in hand, not one or the other.

I don't know what's a number 1 corner to you. The guy is a shutdown corner

Ruhroh I smell the beginning of another agenda from we know who.

It smells a little like sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet..

C'mon mang...coach, Nelson's man coverage is impecable.

with the past few years what elite DB besides Berry was good behind that terrible front 7 the emergence of Chris Jones Nnandi and Regland have helped that D but they are still a ways from having a good D b/c if they face a team like us or buffalo in the playoffs and the D can contain Mahomes that D in the AFC can be shredd by Ben, maybe Rivers I think he is hard decline, josh Allen has the weapons now so he could Tannihill im not sold on. as well as Watson.

A shut down corner? Um no. That's Rod Woodson, Dion Sanders, you don't throw often at that guy often and they typically cover the most dangerous receiver.

Nelson is or 3rd best DB, behind Fitz ( who teams stop throwing at later int he season ) , and Haden. A good #2 corner IMO who would not look as good without our pass rush.

I was very for the Nelson free agency pick up. The Steelers sure do a much better job trading for or acquiring DB than drafting them.

Oh ok so no one has a #1 corner right now in the NFL because only once in a generation talent is what you would consider a #1 for this or any other team.

Got it

You said shut down corner. Deal that with label. Shut Down corners DO NOT sign for cheap in free agency. Like I said I liked the signing, but what your saying is silly. Kansas City let him go.

Nelson had 1 interception and 8 PD's last year. Nothing special. Maybe they all threw at Edmunds :)

Ok sorry for the semantics. I still say he is a #1 corner in this league, do you still think he is a #2?

No TDs allowed, for me that's shutdown corner candidate level, he might have been signed for cheap. Credit the FO for seeing the talent and betting on his continuous development, if he repeats his #s I guess you will eat crow while the rest of the league calls him a top 5 corner.

For Coach being a PFF stats guy, I thought he'd be all over the Nelson, shut down corner train!

We will deal with your label of being wrong as usual. Nelson didn't come on the cheap in fact the Steelers signed him to their biggest free agent contract in history. Majority of what you spew on a daily basis is silly. Now get in your luxury Datsun B210 and STFU.

Coach you are 1/2 right as this is a double flip staement. The other side is just maybe the coverage gives the pass rush the extra second needed. EITHER way we can give homage to both units and not degrade an excellent player in the process. Nelson is every bit as good as Hayden was this past season. BOTH are #1s
