Need to address backfield next.

Let's hope he is a diamond in the rough, I'm not sold on Harris, solid yes but not spectacular at all. ****'s the bed in way too many games for an RB1

Do you watch the games..............................................

Najee Harris was one of the bright spots on last year's ****** offense & offensive scheme.

He got yardage dispite being hit in the backfield way more times than not, His year end stats are proff this.

Maybe you see things differently than most but in Najee's case I'd say your vision is impaired.

Maybe he is thinking of najee davenport, the dump truck

6 games under 40 yards and 6 games with under 3ypc. That is ******** the bed any way you look at it. Yeah his line isn't good, but no Elite RB1 has that many off games like that in 1 season.
Let's hope he can step it up in year 2 like a Jonathan Taylor.

I want/wanted McFarland to work out... I think the Steelers like Snell, IMO he is just two slow.

You need to be punched in ******* eye. Did you see our OL play last year???

Put Najee behind Indy's OL and he would have had 1500 easily!

I don't know why I'm responding to you...

Doesn't change the fact that he **** the bed 6 games last year? Saquan Barkley got 5 yards per carry his rookie year behind a crap O-line.

Pretty sure our OL was noticably worse. I have never seen a RB get hit more in the backfield consistantly than our Najee Harris.

HARD pressed to find a worse OL than the last year's STEELERS OL.

Not sure if your statement serious but if you watched the games in full you see that you are ONLY going by a statistical view.

Buffalo 16c/45yd 2.8 ypc
raiders 10/38 3.8 ypc
cincy 14/40 2.9 ypc
chicago 22/62 2.8 ypc
chargers 12/39 3.3 ypc
cincy 8/23 2.9 ypc
baltimore 21/71 3.4 ypc
tenn 12/18 1.5 ypc
baltimore 11/28 2.5 ypc
kc 12/29 2.4 ypc

Thats alot of underproduction and inefficiency for a Stud RB#1 In my opinion
7 games 40 rushing yards or less and 7 games under 3 ypc.
10 poor rushing performances, statistically

Check the stats. His games that were off were games where he had only a few touches. I don't care if you have the best RB in the game, if he only gets 8, 11, 12 touches in the game (and with a bad o line) what are you expecting from him? Any RB1 needs a at least competent Line (when your center is a rookie and has issues snapping the ball you dont have a good Line). You also need a passing attack that extends beyond 3 yards most of the time so the Defense can't crowd the Line. Lets not forget about running out of the shot gun a majority of the time which is a hinderance for any back. I really want to be objective and not be rude but come on you gotta dig a little deeper if your gonna start quoting stats. Pretty much nobody involved with the offense did anything to help this guy be in a position to succeed and yet he still did pretty damn good. And he was the 4th rusher in the league. Jeez what do you want from the guy?

Najee may or may not be a HOF back or whatever. But what he had to work with he did pretty damn well.

I can agree with that for the most part, he did have a bad line and a bad offensive coordinator. I think he is a solid back.
I just didn't see anything from him last year that said this guy is one of the best guys in the league, or a special talent?
If a runningback is getting it done they are going to give him a ton of carries, not 8, 11, or 12 like a few games last year. Tomlin especially. Najee just was unproductive on the ground for a good part of last season.
We have one of the worst running games in the league, its been like that since 2018, I was expecting that to change, especially with a 1st round pick from Alabama? I'm sure alot of Steeler fans were hoping for more from the run game last year. I'm not saying it was all his fault or that he couldn't improve this year, I just can't ignore the lack of production on the ground. I want him to have 100 yards rushing half as often as sub 40 yards, he didn't even do that.

I'll just leave this here. Najee, as a rookie behind the worst line in the league and a high school OC had: 1,200 yards rushing, 467 receiving on 74 catches, and 10 total TD's. He was a beast even with no room to run.

You do understand Bens penchant for starting slow and therefore getting us behind early on right? I mean that’s obvious and clear right? When that happens you don’t get to run much. Now throw in the short passing game we had which allows the the defense to just T off on everything. My whole point is the dude should have been a lot worse given the situation he was in. Literally the deck was stacked against him and he still managed to be the 4th best back in the league as a rookie and a completely awful situation. That there says a lot wether you or anyone wants to admit it.

Given the Line, coaching, Ben etc,
I expected him to be more efficient YPC running the ball than James Conner the guy he was drafted to replace? I'm sure most people would have.

So basically what your saying is you have no interest at looking at anything that makes a team, a play or anything work you just want the man to be superman and be the best ever no matter what. No real point in continuing this discussion. It's like playing chess while someone is playing checkers.

After Najee, we have practice squad guys on most other teams including Snell. We need to sign a legitimate back before training camp. Thoughts on who?
I don’t think they know what they have.
Its been over a decade since Arians transitioned the oline from a primarily run blocking unit to a pass block first talent base… even the Munchak fixes were mashed to hell with whatever Fitchner was trying to do… the line itself was a total mess the last two years… as a pure Running team any or all of them could be really effective behind a competent oline and scheme

Last year was still heavily influenced by Fitchner… I can see why they are waiting to see how it looks in camp before doing anything with the position

JC had DeCastro, Pouncey and Villanueva in still decent shape
Decastro was fighting that foot for a couple years… pouncey was a shell his last year or two… and AV was criminally overrated… he was ok at his peak… nothing more…
