NEED Good restaurant in Pittsburgh for Saturday night.

Whatever happened to Christopher's? Is that where Monterey Bay is now? Is Grand Concourse any good??

Christoper's has been gone for years. Yes, it's Monterey Bay. Honestly Monterey Bay has a great view and atmosphere. It's pricey, pretty good if you like seafood, but not great. Grand Concourse has a kickass Sunday brunch but otherwise is pretty much a tourist trap IMHO. Likewise LeMont. Very pricey and the food is mediocre.

Eleven in the Strip District is another place with really good food. A little more of a scene than Dish which is small and intimate.

Try Dish Osteria Bar on 128 S 17St.

I'm all the way across the country, but this place piqued my interest so I looked up reviews, photos etc.

Wow. And maybe one of the better reviewed restaurants I've seen in a while. I'm so hungry now b/c those damn yelpers can't not take a picture of every-damn-thing they're about to eat. Tubesox, I don't think you'll go wrong with this one.

As Ron Burgandy said, Dianoias at 2549 Penn Ave, went over Christmas
while visiting, their gnocchi with meatballs or in bread bowl is great, getting
outstanding reviews,
Haven't been to Dish Osteria since they reopened (they needed a break) but it
Is a must when I come home.
Alla familia at 804 E Washington, traditional Italian. Took large group there a couple
years ago. Good food, many sports photos of area sports stars who have visited. You order entrees
And they take care of rest.

You can take her up to Shiloh Grill up on Mt Washington. It’s pretty damn good. Plus you can take her on the lookauht over the Burgh and see how gorgeous the city is all lit up-n-at.

The Capital Grill is also a good choice.

Or Ditka’s auht in Robinson. Abauht 10-15 minutes from Dahntahn and close to the airport. Excellent food

Ditka’s is a good place as well. Have had dinner there several times and enjoyed it. Capital Grill I like as well.

Grand Concourse was a little overrated I thought but I haven't been there in years so it could be better now.
It's not fancy, if anything it's authentic Yinzer steeltown mill bar, but Big Jim's is a personal favorite and has good Italian food. Guy Fieri's TV show was there, it's how I found out about it. Just east of downtown. You didn't say how old your boys are but if they are in the eating you out of house and home stage, they will love it. Portions are enormous. Good selection of craft beers. I had to eat the wedding soup with a fork.

Love Big Jim's. My Dad grew up about a block away. Their meatball sub is enough for 2.

Post game me and teenage son sat in JB Grill 36 by the stadium. They didn't care that he was a minor sat in the bar and watched the second set of games. Atmosphere was fantastic. Lots of good discussion with Steelers fans. got a table around six. Food was a little chain restaurant like, but quite delicious.

What about Meat and Potatoes in the cultural district?
We did Sundays brunch there twice and loved it. The atmosphere is pretty cool.
Never did dinner so maybe some locals can chime in.

food was ok. i thought.
best part about grill 36 in going to pee.

I like Fat Heads in the South Side. It's not a high end restaurant, but it's Pittsburgh. Plus after dinner, there is a lot to see in the South Side, if it's a nice night. You get a lot of different flavors on Carson.

Tube... if you go with my suggestion.. let me know so I can align with my people there..

You’ll spend a little more.. but it’s worth it..
Food is outstanding, wine list is amazing, and I’ll make sure your service is great!

Not only that.. Current and former Pittsburgh sports celebs frequent the place..

If not ., maybe next time..

Eleven, Monterrey Bay, Hyde Park all get high marks from people I’ve driven around. People also like the Federal Galley but the concepts constantly change. I’d probably just go to Monterrey Bay so she can put a bunch of photos up on Instagram from Mt Washington.

When I come into town from Houston to visit the fam on Saturday nights prior to the game, I take them to Monterey Bay on Mount Washington. Great food, fabulous view of the city, great ambiance, and not cheap but worth it. Your wife will be impressed.
LeMont is very good too and both located on Grandview Avenue on Mount Washington. I love going back to where I grew up on Mount Washington and look forward to my game trips each year.

Screw Olive Garden. That’s where us business travels go for dinner. Really don’t want to take her there. Take my suggestions and you’ll make the little lady very happy.

I was running all these places by ol girl and she said, "he must like that place because of the view". She didn't seem to love the food there. But she is somewhat of a picky eater so I take her opinion with a grain of salt.

Dish Osteria and Bar south side. Small so make sure you get a reservation. Food is awesome.

Trust me, this is what you're looking for. Mr. Bus and I spent several anniversary dinners there.

I reached out to the family up yonder for a special Italian restaurant and almost unanimously got this....bus seems to have hit it on the head for the good and authentic anyway.

Dish Osteria is reopening on the South Side
Here’s the scoop on Dish Osteria and Bar: The popular South Side Italian restaurant is reopening this spring after its owners, Michele and Cindy Savoia, took a nearly two-year break from the business.

When I said the place looked like my buddy Tony's grandma's old place on the south side and it looked smaller than my tool shed, they just laughed and said I couldn't get food like this at Tony's grandmas or my tool shed.

PS....guess what another place was that made their list bus....yep, Eleven on the Strip....LOL
(but this place was more for the 'rock shrimp risotto', the wide range of selections and the cool ambience.)
2 fur 2 ..not bad

They’re specialty is seafood and I’ve always enjoyed. Also, for me at least, lots of memories having been raised on Mount Washington it’s like really going home again. The atmosphere at those two places and the view are remarkable. Are there places in town with better food? Of course!

I am the opposite of her I am not food picky, maybe some veggies but that is about it. So when I find a place I think the food is bland ... which is why I think Primanti's is meh.And why I promote Peppi's because it is better than average according to my taste buds...

I recall Primanti's in the Strip at 2AM being a lot better than at lunchtime at any of their other locations. Granted, I never went to the original location for lunch, or any of the other locations at 2AM, so technically inconclusive.

OK next Saturday some of my coder friends want to eat in the strip district for lunch. 6 of us. Where should I bring them? They aren't out of towners. I am thinking a casual (not dressy as in business casual where you have to dress up) restaurant with good food. One of my friends wants to check out some Steelers stuff so we decided to eat there.... The place Ron suggested is booked. So some other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
