Najee injures eye in Fireworks mishap

It simply amazes me how little their careers mean to these players. if you can't refrain from stupid behaviors for a few years to secure the remainder of your life, they deserve what they get.

I think it was an incident where numerous people were setting off fireworks and one went astray. As he suffered a superficial injury in the process.

Hell we could call a boatload of Americans stupid as a lot of people set them off or are watching semi closely.
 
Fireworks mishaps can happen even if careful. I was careful but still had a few close calls. Worst one was i lit a festival ball, backed up the ball never launched out of the tube and i took off running and just dove. It ended up exploding on the ground.
 
Meh like others said... you can get injured without doing anything wrong... hell I remember when a Pro fireworks show in west mifflin went awry and a huge shell misfired and landed in a Hills parking lot and injured a bunch of people... Najee could have done nothing wrong and still gotten hurt...
 
I wouldn't condemn him at all without knowing all the details. Even them it’s hard to condemn someone because I’m not this judge or the jury.

I did many crazy things involving pyrotechnics, amazing I never got injured or injured anyone around me.

I hope he recovers fast.

i remember as a kid a firecracker going off in or very close to my thumb/forefinger.. and that sucker hurt really bad. Cant imagine a worse or bigger explosion

Fireworks are something that are typically handled by drunk adults. Kids handle them too. Sometimes the teens are drunk or drugged. Sometimes there is no supervision. Sometimes the parents supervising are drunk. Where I live it's legal for these people to set off explosives 20 feet from your front door. Just as long as it's not an school grounds it's OK. I feel safe on independence day.
 
A few more details have emerged, and it's looking like Najee was just an innocent bystander. Article on ESPN says that several people were injured in the accident, and one was hospitalized with loss of fingers.
 
Najee has his eye set on the upcoming season.

Seriously....I hope he is ok.....but he is not a Steeler. Let's move on.

Side note. Will Tomlin final learn from his failures?

Fact is Tomlin has had talent on his teams. He simply hasn't used them to their ability. How many of Ben's years were wasted? Will this year be different? Will he waste AA Rod's last season?

Simply a wait and see game.

Will Coach Tomlin be able to know it’s time to get on with his life’s work………???

Like any athlete, coaches have a hard time believing they have no more to contribute.

Coach Tomlin may have more to contribute but I think it will take a hard wake-up call and a change of scenery as well.

I can’t speak for what goes on inside his head, but something tells me he won’t step down for quite sometime from now.

I’m hoping about the end of current contract that Artie decides to turn over the reigns to Dan. In turn,…… Dan shows a backbone and replaces the Tomlin, retired or not.
