Najee Harris, or Travis Etienne?

Agree Litos, I want the best one or close to it, NOT the last of the 10. WE need a corner-stone LT and appears that we will have a choice once our pick comes around (1.24). I want what's best for the team at the pick they are on

Since the Packers signed Aaron Jones long term, I wonder if they would part with AJ Dillon and their 3rd(92)) for our 2nd(55). He looked good in the run that they gave him last year.

I agree. Although it depends on whose scouting you trust. SI march 10 LT rankings:
1. Sewell
2. Darrisaw
3. Cosomi
4. Spencer Brown
5. Radunz
6. Mayfield
7. D'ante Smith (ECU)
8. Leatherwood
9. Lilttle
10. Adrian Ealy (OU)

Ealy and Smith are not top 50 but Brown could be a late riser. I do see Leatherwood as a G but Ive seen him projected as a T by others.

I see 6-8 as possible LT's. Also IMO, Tomlin will try Banner at LT. I think we should draft 2 tackles. Banner/Chuks +2 drafted hopefully one sticks at LT.
 
Either if they last till the 3rd round. Not in the 1st or 2nd though, that’s where they need OL
 
IF all 3 are not available then who who you pick? Curious as to who everyone has as the next tier of running backs.

Slater can play LT like he did at Northwestern. Add him to the mix, even if the SI rankings designate him as a G or C. In fact, I would rate Slater as the #4 on that list.
 
people say OT is deep. It is but the problem is that nearly every team is looking for OT help. I think last year there were 7 OT drafted in Rd 1. So if you wait until rd 2 you may be looking at drafting the #10 OT.

i just can't see any way to possibly justify RB in rd 1.

Slater's arm measurement is just 33 inches. That's generally too short to play LT. A lot of teams will have him as a G because of that alone. Since the steelers have need at C as well as T, he'd be a great pick because you can try him at T and if the arm length is an issue, he'd likely make a great C.

Jamal Williams left for Detroit so they'll keep Dillon as the #2

Trying Banner @ LT is scary for me. For me it is Cos or Darri if we want first round value + LT fit. Slater just doesn't fit what the Steelers look for in a LT. They like those athletic boys with reach. I rather not experiment if Slater could be an exception. I would rather follow the formula for picking a LT. Or what I perceive to be their formula. We need a LT sooner than later. That makes experiments very risky for a older QB seeing the sunset. If those two I listed are off the board, value wise I go RB. Then swoop back in to see if value is there for a LT in 2 or 3.

Dillon Radunz, 6'5", 33 1/2" arm length.
Walker Little, 6'7", 33 3/4" arm length

Eichenberg from Notre Dame is tomorrow. Good God, I hope his arm length is better than 33 3/4" or the Steelers are completely hosed.
 
IMO, Etienne offers the versatility of Marshall Faulk while Harris offers the skillset of Eddie George. You have to figure both will add weight as they get older and in a professional environment. So which flavor RB you prefer ...

I'd find it hard to pass on a dancing bear in the first, though for one of these two RBs, you'd almost have to. Either will make it easier for our starting QB in 2022 and beyond. I doubt any RB we draft is going to put us on their rookie back and lead us to the Lwob Repus.

Traditionally, you'd take the LT and fix the OL. A solid and spectacular OL would make any RB look good. You could take a top-tier LT, then a C and add Sermon in the 3rd and have a solid run game.
 
I'd take RB and OT in the first two rounds. Doesn't matter which order. I do know they're not running for **** if they don't have the OL to do it. Which is probably what they should start focusing on for the future.

I'm in the minority... don't want Harris. I don't like his slight build. He looks skinnier than Conner. Give me the beast build of Williams or Sermon.

Besides, we need oline help in a huge way.

I'm sure we'll draft a LBer in the 1st anyway, lol. Collins or the kid from Kentucky.

Najee Harris’ best fits in the 2021 NFL Draft​

Najee Harris is an interesting NFL draft evaluation because he brings a skill-set unlike really any we’ve seen recently. He’s a massive running back at 6’2 and 229 pounds, nearly the size of Titans’ star Derrick Henry, 6’3, 238 pounds. However, what Harris does that separates him from other big power backs is his amazing work as a receiver. Harris has demonstrated excellent catching ability throughout his career, and he projects as a player you can feature on every play regardless of down and distance.

Running back can occasionally be one of the hard positions to find team fits, but a few destinations make a lot of sense for Harris. One team that stands out is the Miami Dolphins. Miami is home to Harris’ former collegiate QB Tua Tagovailoa, and the team desperately needs an RB1 in the building. Somewhere else that makes sense is Arizona, where Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray are a superstar rusher away from being the NFL’s scariest offense.

I saw him at his workout...he looks skinny to me. I just don't see 230lbs there. His frame is long but not robust like Zeke or Saquan. I wouldn't draft him in the 1st rd. but he will fit someone's scheme to a "T". He's built a lot like LeVeon Bell (drafted at 230+, played at 218) and will likely be a pro-bowler...imho, Javonte Williams has similar talent and I like his stout build a lot more.
