My thoughts in retrospect

This is part of the trade off you make when you allow/ask your DE's to pressure the passer and not just stay gap sound.

Sent from my XT1585 using Steeler Nation mobile app

Saw a tweet this morning that showed how the defensive alignment allows the linemen to easily get to the second level and take out the linebackers before they even have a chance. It's bad and something Butler needs to adjust.

The glaring weakness on this team is it's inability to stop the run. We are getting too much penetration into the backfield and are not containing the gaps. Losing Shazier is part of this, but our run D wasn't great when he was playing either. We need our OLBs to contain the run and shut that **** down.

TRUTH and why I was hoping we'd have put Deebo inside.

Just don't think they thought he had that in him anymore. I was there v Baltimore when he got his last snaps and he is absolutely still able to bull rush, but that might be it. I guess the last thing you want is for him to look like Farrior did in his last season when RBs schooled him in coverage.

That would be beyond sad if Bellacheat tried to spot Deebo into a playoff game and let Haley bait him into something stupid.

Opps...I meant Haley...not Butler

OK for yinz that can't comprehend, first let me amend my comment ........I meant Haley...not Butler...Opps ....but in retrospect I probably should have said Ben

Next I'm one of the Harrison fans that realizes that there is no way he can cover in space let alone in man, so scenarios like this can be the norm for Deebo to try and handle.

Some fans think the Steelers will be doomed after the news of Harrison leaving the team. I have a feeling the Steelers will be just fine, even if they end up playing New England in the playoffs. If I’m Todd Haley, I’m licking my chops thinking about seeing Harrison on the right side in a game, and me sending Le’Veon Bell in the slot to force Harrison into coverage. Talk about a mismatch nightmare for a defense. Yeah, the Steelers will be just fine.

Harrison has some good pass rush moves and can hold the edge as well as anybody but most defenses nowadays have packages that require the OLBers to cover in specific circumstances, something that just inn't in Harrison's wheelhouse. Not only covering a RB out of the slot but screens and delayed draws can also be a problem for aggressive players like him.

Sorry for the confusion, I'll be off to take one of my naps now, be back later if yinz need me.
