My plan would be to fill many holes with reasonably priced free agents.

I’d first trade a late round pick (6th) for Haas Reddick. He just does not fit the current system he’s in. He was on the trading block earlier this year and no one bit. I’m thinking this off season his trade value will be 5th-7th.

Reddick is a guy I feel can play OLB or ILB depending on the formation. He’s a read and react player and a quick twitch athlete. If you don’t bog him down too much with assignments he will make plays for you.

Then I’d sign Deone Bucannon another cardinals linebacker. Again he does not fit the new scheme. Their loss is our gain. Bucannon is a former Safety now linebacker who has the speed to cover a slot or TE. I’m not going to pay him the 8 million a year he made last year but I feel he won’t get that either.

TY Yeldon is whom I go after for RB depth. I feel he’s young enough with upside and low mileage on his legs. Conner has been great but he’s definitely had a few injuries and having a guy like Yeldon would be advantageous. He can run on short yardage and has above average hands.

Golden Tate would be my target for slot receiver. Tate is on the wrong side of 30 but still productive. He’s flexible enough to play outside in a pinch if injury requires it but I feel he’d excel being that outlet for Ben and getting good YAC on short or intermediate routes.

I honestly feel I could get all of these players for the 14.5 we saved not signing Bell.

1 heard some vets asking rooneys to fire tomlin if so replace with Muncheck
2 Fire Butler replace with Rex Ryan, who then brings many versatile DL and LB that can play both standing up and in 2 ptr stance we run a variation of different looks in nickel dime from 3-3-5, 4-2-5.
3-2-6 4-1-6 3-1-7.
3 add a RB like TJ yeldon for depth
4 add a vet slot WR.
5 add Patrick Peterson
draft top DB rnd 1

1 ) FIRE TOMLIN. Why wait for the offseason? With him out of the way, we can win a playoff game this year. The Steelers will have the pick of the lot to hire their next head coach. The sooner Tomlin is gone, the more feelers we can get as to who is interested. I'd be okay with giving Cowher a three-year deal, but that is mostly a fantasy.

2 ) Let Tomlin's assistance in Butler, Porter, and the special team's coach go.

3 ) Part ways with Kicker Chris Boswell ( Take the cap hit ) and find better than Jordan Berry at punter with a late round pick or in free agency.

4 ) Let Gilbert go, adding to the cap space. Foster can walk if he wants too much money.

5 ) Free agency. We have Bell's extra14.5 million to spend. Get two starters.

I'm perfectly fine trading for Ramsey or Peterson. I'd offer our first round pick and a third-round pick. That plus cap relief might be enough for dumb teams like Jacksonville or Arizona. Then we would have excellent corners. If this can't happen, draft the following in priority of need as long as the value in the given round is there.

Primary needs in rounds 1-4
ILB
S
CB
Speed WR

Needs in rounds 5-7

Interior OL ( If Foster leaves )
K

That's probably the best Coach post ever.

Fire Tomlin and everything else will fall into place. Keep Tomlin and we will see the same **** show we have for years under the imbecile.

Keep him here and expecting different results after 11 years ios the definition of insanity. he is what he is a stupid man full of weak bullshit and a man incapable of making correct decisions or even recognized chronic problems.

If the current staff actually developed and coached talent to succeed at the nfl level.
That's what the team needs.
A new voice with position coaches to actually coach and put these players in the best position to succeed.

He tries to smooth talk and depends on the raw talent/athleticism of his roster.
No player development, no actual defenisve schemes. Every player in the nfl has weaknesses.
Great coaches create playbooks to minimize the players on their rosters defencies. Tomlin does his damn best to expose his players weaknesses. Vince Williams for example.

He's slow. Why in the **** is he dropping back into coverage?

I actually believe that Tomlin makes all the decisions on D, and the others are just hoping to ride things out without being labeled malcontents. This would still allow them to maybe stay if Tomlin gets canned, or at least given a shot elsewhere, you NEVER want to burn bridges. This will also cause a huge problem with hiring a new DC or position coaches, if they are not allowed to do their thing, why would you want to take the gig? Very young coaches might, just to get their foot in the door, but it still would result in the same **** show we have now.
