I'm from Fargo. I've watched every NDSU Bison game with Carson Wentz steering the ship. The kid is a nerd type film junkie prepared like Peyton Manning. Being prepared is an understatement. He's unflappable. He's just simply really good! I hope our Steel Curtain shows up big time! I don't want Harrison to kill my boy. But just keep him from scoring! LOL I hope the Eagles secondary gets exploited like Cutler did early in the game with that 49 yarder tonight. The Wentz mania in Fargo is fun. ESPN was even here tonight in the bars to film stuff. But I still want our Steelers to crush the Eagles. I've never been a fan of the Eagles. But I will root for them for fun for Wentz when not playing the Steelers. I need for the Steelers to crush them. So I can continue to gloat afterwards here in town. Otherwise I'm going to be hearing a lot of ****! LOL! Rookie QB upstages Big Ben blah blah blah **** I will hear.

Wentz is the real deal. He has size, poise, and accuracy. He's running the entire playbook, he's disguising the run, and he's even audibling presnap and he's effective at it.

The only thing that will help us is giving him fake looks at the LOS, so he audibles into what we want him to do. I also expect a CB blitz, rolling the coverage behind it. Gay would get INTs on these plays.

The Eagle's defense is also for real. They will be the Steeler's toughest test to run on this season. Their pass D also has playmakers, so hopefully Ben can limit the INTs this week. This D will be difficult to play against when you're down on the scoreboard. Score early and often to keep the pressure off.

If I'm Tomlin even though the game was years ago I play the eagles dominating win over is on a loop..the game where they sacked Ben 9 times or so. Piss the OLine off all week..

If we don't generate a pass rush and put constant pressure, our bend-but-don't-break defense will be breaking, rookie or not. Butler needs to mix up the blitz packages. Tuitt and Heyward are great at what they do, but we need QB pressures to come from others.

No we don't need to blitz at all. We are forcing teams to take what we are giving. Stuff the run and make teams one dimensional. The sacks will come. We are getting pressures. Let's see the rookie figure out the looks we giving and see if he stays patient.

Wentz is gonna be good - the Browns passed on him in the draft

I rest my case

I think the Eagles have a bright future with Wentz but keep in mind the Bears gifted the Eagles several short fields due to Cutler's mistakes from not being able to grip the ball due to his injured thumb on his throwing hand. Wentz was more of a game manager last night and still has a ways to go in his development before he's going to put up elite numbers. But he was effective and did the things he needed to do, just got a lot of help from the Bears and Cutler.

I'm two hours east of Fargo, saw many of Wentz games as we get the Fargo stations here. I stated after the draft that he'd be ready to go, but so far has exceeded my expectations. I for see a bump in the road there for Wentz and the Eagles this weekend.

Night and day different between what they've seen so far and what's coming.

I like Wentz and think he will be an excellent QB but I have to keep in mind that he's played the Browns and Bears so far so I'm not going to get too enamored with him just yet. I want to see him play an entire 16 game schedule and see how he deals against better teams and faces adversity. Our defense isn't great by any means but its athletic and fast so I think this will be an interesting matchup.

I had some doubts about Wentz, then he proved to be the best QB in the Senior Bowl and I was sold.

You can compare him to a rookie Ben Roethlisberger. Big guy, good arm, good mobility, the initial success. What surprised me most about Wentz in the NFL is he's very poised for a rookie.

Cleveland strikes out again!

Biggest concern for me isn't Wentz, its Sproles out of the backfield. We got exploited underneath by the Bungles with dump off passes. Sproles can hurt us just the same. We were fortunate to keep Cincy out of the end zone for much of the game. We will need to be more disruptive and rattle the rookie.

The Browns.

The Bears and Jay Cutler.

We are not exactly talking about world beaters here.

The bears defense was solid and Wentz has not thrown an int yet. He took some unneeded hits yesterday. The short passes will play into our hands. Our offense is much more potent which may force them into mistakes.
