Muth 3rd concussion in less than 12 months

I brought this up in the game thread. Did he have a history of concussions in college?
 
If I coached (I know they would never tell a player this) I would tell my TEs and Wrs: If you are in that short area where the linebackers cover and you can see you are going to get gang tackled get on the ground. It's not worth fighting for 2 yards and getting your head slammed on the turf or your leg twisted into an unnatural position.
 
Yes ---terrible for the young man.

His career might be done.

Gentry has been a pleasant surprise to me though...Kid has come a long way and has greatly improved his ball skills...Not to mention he is a much better blocker than Muth...

I believe 81's play is going to be a big surprise to us all..

Ladarius Green had 3 before coming to the Steelers, and the 4th with the Steelers ended his career. Of course everyone is different, but this has not been a good series of events for Muth.
 
Not good. Season is ******. See what Heyward is. They didn't even show the replay, but yeah might be time for a new line of work.

You could see it towards the end of last season, he seemed to pick it up a notch and now is continue that upward notch.

For Muth's own safety, the Steelers should just IR him and see where things go. If they don't want to IR him they should at least deactivate him until after the bye. Personally, with the **** show we have this year, just IR'ing him and seeing what next year brings is the way to go in my opinion.
 
Yeah I don't want to see this young kid destroy his life. Better to IR him if he got seriously dinged, give reps to the young and hungry and let's retool next draft.

It worked for Franco Harris and he was #2 in career yards for a time.
 
I believe he did have a concussion or multiple at Penn State. During the game, I was telling my wife, Muuth is going to have to make a very tough decision this offseason. Doctors will definitely recommend he retires with as many concussions as he's had. He may have to take their advice. It sucks because he's going to be a very good TE and he hasn't made any money in the NFL yet. But, he will have to make that serious decision either this offseason or before and definitely when he gets his next concussion.
 
He's got to let his melon heal. This stuff is no different than fighters who get knocked out. They tend to get knocked out easier and easier with each concussion.

If this really is his 3rd concussion in a year. He should absolutely take some time off from contact. This season is a wash.

Still too early to call cause he’s just a sophmore, but Brock Bowers out of UGA would look good in the B&G

gonna tank next year too?

UGA may have 3 TEs on their roster better than ours, crazy how stacked their TE room is
