Multiple Steelers Added To Covid Reserve List

NICE rant but also very true. I can say I'd expect more but then I consider how selfish & stupid these guys are so nothing surprises me when it comes to doing what's right amongst these players.

Salute the nation

Wasn't Ebron making comments about how teams affected by covid caused him to miss a bye week and how he would give up a game check not to have to play a 3rd game within 12 day period.
All I can see happening is this dude yapping about Superbowls when he really has no experience on the matter.

Joe Haden helping to beat Cleveland tomorrow and possibly end their playoff chance sounds like a better headline than
Joe Haden Covid tests positive and watches Cleveland beat Pitt to end the season and watches next week as Cleveland disposes of the Steelers in the 1st round of the playoff.

Do you really want your career to end that way just because you couldn't just stay home with your immediate family only......

A lot more is at risk for a NFL player or coach compared to a random gym member.

A gym member could spread it to other members take it home to their families / work / wherever. Not sure how it is that much different. Football has a lot of money / emotion tied up in it, but it is still just entertainment.

So if the Steelers lose their playoff game in the last second due to Sutton giving up a late FG or TD, I am pretty sure you would be upset. Maybe even sing a different tune.

Sure I would be upset, but I dont think its right to bash a guy for going out to eat or whatever when 95% of the board does the same things. We went out to eat (before shutdowns), go to the store, but we didnt do anything for the holidays other than my gf took my mom shopping. Of course the timing of Haden's result is terrible and I just hope it doesnt get worse.

I didn't think anyone went too crazy with their remarks. You know what 95 percent of the board does? Impressive.

Still strangers were there, just as much chance at getting it with individual contact. I know this as my close friend and a work buddy both got Covid with limited contact. Covid doesn't care if you just are at a table instead of a buffet. You still have people interacting.

Agree with ya that the less contact the lesser the odds of contracting.

In Ontario people hosting gatherings are being fined heavily and all the guests attending are subject to fines as well.

True, BUT the gym members are WRONG too, just as HADEN IS WRONG as well.

Selfish? To who? We as fans, because we want a Super Bowl?

C'mon, these guys are just like the rest of us...trying to live life even a little. If any of you were around extended family to any degree this Christmas season, are you selfish?

Stop it. We need to quit blaming people with this thing. Have we ever went around blaming people for the flu? It's ridiculous.

Something I haven't talked about but there was a time during the pandemic he was in Oakmont (Oct 17th) outdoors eating with his wife. (No masks) Just a risk that had no result so I didn't think it really needed to be thrown out with the season going well.

Slash, I've found that it's kinda hard to eat with a mask on. Was he walking around talking to folks or just sitting with his wife, outside as you say, eating?

Oh the ol Covid is nothing more than the flu argument. Poor NFL players just wanna have fun. Cindi Lauper eat your heart out. Thing is NFL tweaked their Covid protocol so they know a lot of money is on the line. We as fans know poor decisions could lead to an early playoff exit. Sure live a little **** safety what is a playoff birth anyways it isn't like they missed out for three straight years. What's one more loss right?

Outside restaurant. Sure is hard to eat with a mask on. Hard to safeguard around employees who have a lot of interaction with people right? So maybe eat at home during the season to minimize risk right? I have a scenerio for yinz. Friday Ben and TJ are at the same outdoor restaurant and get Covid from a waitress. Your reaction would be ?

Well if you look in the coronavirus thread you will see what I mean.......Just seems odd that so many say corona is a hoax and govt is taking freedoms away and what not, and then saying Haden cant go out to eat with his wife or see family / friends? I think we will all agree it sucks that he got it and hopefully we can move on and play well. If the offense reverts back to what is was before the second half last week it wont matter if prime Deion Sanders and Woodson are our corners.

Skanky little twit!
Seriously though, I get where you're coming from. I do. We don't go out. Use contactless delivery. All that. These guys are paid a lot of $$ to perform and while the season is going on, they should take more precautions than the average person. Yet and still, they're human. Humans **** up sometime. Just wish they had ****** up after February.

Nobody says the situation doesn't suck but players and coaches need to make smart decisions. In this case a player made a poor decision no matter how you slice it.

Bullshit. Nowhere did I say that the covid is the equivalent of flu. I stated that we have never blamed people for getting the flu or other things like we have with covid, and it has to stop. Just like any virus, you can be doing everything right, but you need milk or something and go to the store, and boom! you are exposed.

Live a little? You invite a new guy on the team over to your house (I don't know if that's what happened, I saw a reference to it in this thread), and that is living recklessly? Damn, it is just assinine.

Did you see any extended family over the holidays? Have you gone to the Lowe's or something lately? Got a coffee at the WAWA? If you have, shut the hell up, because if you are consistent, you are compromising your whole workplace as well. The only difference is you don't have lots of fans.

What needs to change is the reaction to this. These players are in tip top condition. We have gone through a whole season, and there have been positive covid tests around the league, but as far as I know every guy has come back in a couple of weeks and been fine. So why not just stop with the over reaction? If a guy tests positive, sit him out, but if you test negative, play.

Welp..

..time for some gum

No I didn't see anyone as we had a cancer patient. I wasn't risking her life with my selfishness. We minimized risk knowing what the dangers were. Inviting people over BTW isn't minimizing risk. NFL has contact tracing as they know the danger in it as well. Which is why there is a protocol in place. In life you do dumbass **** someone will call you on it.

Not sure why fans aren't supposed to like a player possibility putting a playoff outcome at risk. I think that is a reasonable dislike. As far as what the NFL does obviously they feel it is a dangerous situation even if you don't.

Guys, I think I figured out Ben's rough third of the season. he has said how mentally draining this season has been. has also said that he pretty much goes to the facility and home. also he and the wife sleep in different beds. probably keeps away from them as much as possibly. that would be very hard for a father, let alone an NFL QB. Then there the whole relationship of it. it's been what 6 month since training camp started. so if he is staying away from the wife, dude's sexually frustrated. needs the one eye monster released.:lol:

So you are concerned with Ben's lack of sex hmmmmm. What you do in your own time is your business.[emoji16]

The chances of us beating any of the AFC opponents in round one were already low, but Joe Haden just made them even lower. Thanks Joe. Glad to see you appreciate being payed millions of dollars to play a game...

I am sorry to hear about the cancer patient. I have dealt with much cancer in my family. It is terrible. Hang in there.

However, I'm sorry, I just do not understand the term selfishness in some of these situations. Is going to Lowes selfish if you need to fix something. Or getting groceries you need? That is just as risky as having someone over to the house. I don't like the judgement aspect of it. I think it needs to stop. This is an upside down world when having someone over is considered wrong, but going into a store with a hat on and a face covering only exposing your eyes is considered good. I am not saying there should not be masks, I am just exposing how, this time a year ago, those two positions would be reversed.

Well to be fair as far as his Covid positive goes we have no idea how he got it. I can guess he didn't do the right thing but I don't know for sure.
