The MT Word of the Week for week 4 is:
"The standard is the standard."

The "obviously" over/under is 18.

The bonus word is "turn over stones".

under on obviously I say 10.

I will add another word. "embrace" as in we are in a difficult situation and we embrace it.

15 on the obviously, I agree that the standard is the standard makes an appearance.
"back to the lab" anyone?

obviously.....under.........9
standard is the standard........3
turn over stones.......0
back to the lab.......1
above the pads......1

"I take full responsibility for the bad coaching decisions that led directly to this in-excusable loss to a division rival"

Not.

I'm not sure I could stomach listening to his sorry *** this week.

What's the over/under on "fucknozzle," "shitstick" and "dumbass"?

under on the obviously. Standard is the standard is a Tomlinism of some pedigree, if you will, i see the arrow pointing up on it this week. Turn over stones will be used frequently too, i believe, as it is a Tomlinism of some description.

I will take the under on obviously. Turn over stones will come up. The standard is the standard. I think winning performance shows up more than once. As a side note I love to sprinkle some of these gems into my own coaching. The kids and the other coaches don't know where it comes from. My personal favorite is above the neck. If a kid gets injured I usually chuck in a next man up mentality. Sometimes I call myself a caveman.

"The standard is the standard"--0
"Turn over stones"--1
"Obviously"--UNDER (after a losing week he uses it more so that was brilliant putting the line at 18--still taking under though)

Im still waiting for him to unleash hell

GIRL, you and I both !!!!!!!!!! Afraid you going to be waiting a long time, for this coach to unleash hell. COWHER had an "unleash hell" defense. They could back up the coache's claim. Tomlin's teams haven't had a killer instinct, since it's wore off of the cowher of old team. Keep the faith, good times are a coming................

Part of his first statement: "We were disappointed that we were not able to secure victory." God, I'm so sick of the way this guy talks. Just once I'd love to hear him say, "We're mad that we friggen lost."

"Obviously" showed strong with 16.
No "standard is the standard" or "turn over stones'.
"Minimize", which I nearly picked for the bonus word, showed extremely strong.
"Significant" and "performance" were other words of significance.
"Above the line" appeared once.

Great moments:
Stan: "Was there any consideration to give Scobee one more week?"
MT: "No there was not."

"No there was not" Haha that is gold. Ah no. It is tough, he is in a tough spot with that one. But you simply cannot operate with a kicker you have no faith in. If he has to wonder if you can make a 40 yard field goal in the NFL, you simply can't be there. I think they made a good move when they got him. He should have done the job, but a kicker who has lost his kick is like a golfer who has lost his swing. It has been a series of unfortunate events from Brady getting to play, to Ben being hurt, to the kicker getting hurt in pre season that has put this team at 2-2.

Some of his "tomlinisms" are classic gold. I Just wish he would put as much effort into game time operations.

This won't work, we all know he reads this forum and reacts accordingly. I'll bet TAS hasn't even noticed him parked across the street all week either.

Last year it did seem that the earlier I posted the WotW it lessened the chances that I would be right. With "obviously" he just can't help himself although this year the "obviously" count has been below the line. In years past he was good for at least 20 after a loss.

Just as long as he DOESNT say he's gonna run BELL till the wheels come off . . .

Wait, you mean you fear that Tomlin will run Bell until the wheels come off? What would give you that crazy idea?

Oh yeah...the NFL's leading rusher after week 2 has gotten exactly 3 carries in the last 2 games.
