Morgan Burnett= Carnell Lake

Mason Rudolph is a 3rd rounder, if he is still there. Even then, I am not so sure I would take him. I still think we have Dobbs with just as much potential. Are they really going to cut Jones for another young guy? I doubt it. And, they'd be fools to cut Dobbs so quickly. The dude is as intelligent a QB as you will find and has the athletic ability. You have to give him another year or even two to develop.
 
round 2 is way to early for a wr rnd. eshe or best OLB/ILB or harrison, round 2 S/ NG/OLB

Free-agent FS Morgan Burnett (Packers) has agreed to a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday, March 20, according to a source. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

If that 8x14 were true then it would be a more complicated contract and in this case it's not.

I'd look at him in the late 2nd, but anything higher, I'd be gun shy. All he is a younger Jones, so it appears. We do have bigger needs and can't waste our first two picks on a maybe.

Safety market has been very slow moving for all of the FAs.

Well they moved him closer so perhaps speed age concerns, and has has some injury concerns like the other killer B they just signed.

If he stays healthy I think he is a better SS play than Davis........
 
Stop gap talent that I believe can dtart in September. Wont force them in the draft. Maybe if the right running back is available in round two they could take him play him till bell signs the tag and then waive bye bye next season to Juice. I hope tgey dont go qb late round one. I know tgeyve been talking to the one guy. Draft a playmaker in the secondary or a MLB please.

Several NFL.com drafts have us taking Guice (sp?) in the first. At least, as of last week.
 
A lot of people are complaining that the Steelers didn't even try to sign certain players. How do we know that didn't try? Did anyone hear anything about Bostic or Burnett before they signed? I never even heard about a visit. The only players that I heard visited were special teams players.

Both these players seem like good Steelers signings. Not the big name players but productive lower tier players.

If they are going to stay with the 3 down DL scheme I wouldn't mind seeing a 3 LB scheme behind it with a rover safety and a standard 2S, 2CB.

Always thought that they should have added a safety and let Troy just do his thing without having a truly defined responsibility.
