It just hit me. JJ Watt is coming to Heinz on Monday and we will be trotting out Beachum and Gilbert against this perfect specimen of what a DE is supposed to be. Watt has to be looking at the film on these guys and salivating.

Kinda like the kicker in The Waterboy: "who's it gonna be? ..... who's it gonna be? .... Oh yeah, there's my b!@ch!"

I think the offense line is the least of our worries.

Didn't notice that I mentioned the whole offensive line. But, yeah, you're probably right. I mean Beachum and Gilbert being the edge protectors for Ben going up against JJ Watt. No worries there. What could possibly go wrong?

Not to mention, when he doesn't get to Ben, I'm sure he'll be doing his patented pass swat cause Ben tends to have passes batted down. The Texans aren't so hot against the run, so it would behoove the Steelers to give them a steady diet of Cheech and Chong. But you know what they'll get, bubble screens and tons of east-west crap where the Steelers struggle to pick up 3 yards at a time.

don't be silly they won't struggle to pick up yards. now points on the other hand. uh yeah

If the Steelers are smart (they aren't) they would chip Matt over to wherever Watt is the whole game. Give a tackle some help............

The line better do something or Ben might get knocked into next season.

Agree slash, Saieth on a chip, or a RB on a chip to a screen pass. Both would work, just weather or not get the call from OC.

Salute the nation

we'll chip Watt with Archer on a wheel route.

If Ben get's hurt that saves this coaching regime's *** for another year.

No way man. In this NFL any QB can put up 30 pts a game. Landry can save us.

Let Watt turn Ben into a paraplegic then trade him for 8 first round picks! That seems to be the logic of the day.

WHy is this line so maligned by the fans ? The dude (Ben) has time to drop back, set his feet and throw........BUT ITS NOT HIS STYLE. So, he gets to his drop back point, waits for the ends to converge or sag, then he moves lookin downfield waiting for 3-4 yards of separation for his receivers. If he doesnt get it and somehow takes a sack while hes adlibing then it makes the line look as if they cant hold their blocks. Youve got 2.75 to 3 seconds from the snap to get the ball out...after that, ***** breakin down. This line affords him that much time. They do have lapses in protection but what line doesnt ?

This line isnt the problem...its our QB and his "keep-it-alive" big play mindset. He doesnt wanna stay in the pocket. If he wants to play that way and subject his body to the abuse while makin big plays, im all for it.

"Ohhh look **** !!!, Bens running for his life......GAWD THIS LINE SUCKS!!!" :-/

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to blitzburghv5 again.

complete bullshit

The O-line is a sieve

If Ben had more than one WR besides AB.that he could depend on to catch the ball he might be able to rid of it quicker. Ben only has AB, Bell and Heath on offense - that's it.

Wheaton and Justin Brown should be benched - get on the damn FA wire and find some starter material.

Both of these; It's a combination of Ben and the time he takes due to the lack of weapons. The worst part is, Ben is in the same situation as Tom Brady right now which is to say they both have an average line and a lack of weapons. The difference is that the plays being called are designed to give Brady a nice quick passing game to which he is excellent at executing. Even if the Steelers coaching staff did their collective jobs and did the same for Ben, he's too ******* arrogant and self centered to stick to it. 3rd and 4 at the Steeler's ten yard line and he goes for the big play long ball so that he can see himself on ******* Sports Center.

Bada bum...bada BUM.

Did anyone watch Gilbert during the game? He was pushed around like a midget on roller skates. Ben does hold the ball too long. However, the OL isn't good either. Ben rarely has a clean pocket.

So you believe that Wheaton WASN'T the first read on that play and Ben just wanted the big play and went to him anyway?

Midget on roller skates? Didnt you just describe Archer? No, wait, if Archer were on roller skates he might do more than just run straight into the arms of the defense . . .
