Moncrief Released!!!!

Hilton sucks. Washington hasn't shown much in games that count. Switzer hasn't even been given an opportunity this year. I still think there is potential there. He used to be one of the only guys that would get open last year for Ben and that was when he didn't have an off-season to work with the team. No way I play Hilton other than special teams. All he's good for is a decoy. Not sure who the RB is they brought up but I guess they need 3 on the roster for this weekends game. He'll go back down next week. If we need a WR, I'd still bring Dez in and kick the tires. He's definitely better than Hilton.

Holton sucks. Hilton underpaid

Dez has been washed up going on 3 years now.

Reminds me of that SB team in 2008. Our WR's were: Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Nate Washington, Limas Sweed, Dallas Baker.

If only their defense was as good.

That 2008 team was flawed offensively, no doubt, but it was one of the greatest defensive teams in league history.

Aside from Watt and Fitzpatrick, there are no players approaching the caliber of Hampton, Smith, Harrison Taylor and Polamalu.

Thank you Bill Cowher, and **** Mike Tomlin.

Did they wait long enough so the Colts couldn't pick him up for tomorrow?.

Players released after the trade deadline all have to go through the waiver process now.

He wouldn't be available till after our game time tomorrow

Even if he was cleared and the Colts resigned him, other than him giving Intel........ Does anything about him scare yaz????

Salute the nation

Yes

his hands scare me

I had this elaborated thought process ready to unleash but somehow dropped it from my mind.

He's been mostly injured. That's why I'd bring him in and put him through a good workout. It can't hurt. He can still catch the ball and, no matter how washed up he may be, he is still an upgrade over Hilton/Holton (whatever his name is).

Bostic was cheap, it didn't hurt. Burnett, Moncrief on the other hand have been brutal, Barron is on the same path. But in general when you account for Haden, Nelson, McDonald (even if often injured the guy is a titan) , now Minkah too we are on the winning side I think
I don't remember Burnett's contract being pricey either. Fans have to realize when you bottom barrel free agency you will often get what you pay for. High risk players who were available for a reason. Some work out some don't. Some of that approach is trying to fill holes from draft failings. Besides when they are just stocking depth.

That entire generation of the team of the 2000s with was the second round of some of the greatest players in franchise history. You had Faneca, Miller, Ward, Roethlisberger, Bettis, Hampton, Polamalu, Porter, Taylor.

1 million dollars per catch. Sign me up! I can give you at least 4. All of my digits are good ,so 7 or 8 two yard dump offs will work.

That was a badass group of guys.

Hallelujah! The obvious decision....save some money, get our comp pick back in a draft where we don't have many picks. After his lousy start to the season he had to know this was gonna happen.

Obviously Brown is the worst of it but add on Burnett, Bostic, and now Moncreif and you are talking about well over 30m in dead money. And it never seems to get better the next year.

Thank god! He might be the worst Free Agent signing this century! Guy was absolutely ******* terrible! Now they should promote Tevin Jones from the Practice Squad.

I remember how confident so many were with the wide receiver depth this year. I didn't think we had much beyond JuJu and he's even been shaky this year.

Close but I think Ladarius Green edges out Goodgrief for first place.

With 27yds on 8 catches. How does Ryan Switzer still have a job?

Good hands on returns so I don't agree but understand why he is there. On O he has no business on the field.

I truly believe the only reason they keep him around is that he doesn't fumble punts or KR. Yeah, he's going to do absolutely nothing with the ball, but he'll catch it. I no longer hold my breath on punts and kr anymore due to the high possibility of a fumble. Now I just worry about flags. lol

I agree.

I also dislike when he back peddles. Give yourself a fighting chance to return it. Not that his burst brings any semblance of confidence.

yeah, drives me nuts too. I used to think he was taking that back step because he was allowing blocks to set up, but we all know that our unit does not block effectively. You would think if that was indeed why he was taking that step, he would have learned by now that its fruitless. He's just a guy, and barely that.
