Moncrief Released!!!!

So who are our WR’s now: JuJu, Washington. Johnson, Switzer, and Hilton? Outside of Juju and Johnson - nothing special. I sure would have liked them to kick the tires on Gordon.

I am also still surprised that Lynch is on the roster...

well there goes my bold prediction of Mongrief getting revenge on his old team.

He wasn’t beating out JuJu.... DJ clearly has taken the role they wanted for him... he isn’t a deep threat and he doesn’t have the sure hands to return kicks... he wasn’t playing st in general... cut him and get a third round pick was a no brainer... it was going to happen as long as injuries didn’t pile up

Did they wait long enough so the Colts couldn't pick him up for tomorrow? Our luck they would pick him up and he would go off for 100 yds and 2 TDs replacing T.Y.

Hilton sucks. Washington hasn't shown much in games that count. Switzer hasn't even been given an opportunity this year. I still think there is potential there. He used to be one of the only guys that would get open last year for Ben and that was when he didn't have an off-season to work with the team. No way I play Hilton other than special teams. All he's good for is a decoy. Not sure who the RB is they brought up but I guess they need 3 on the roster for this weekends game. He'll go back down next week. If we need a WR, I'd still bring Dez in and kick the tires. He's definitely better than Hilton.

Has to go down as one of the worst FA signings by the Steelers in recent history. That being said he had a good reputation before the signing, so this breakdown was 100% mental. No way to see that kind of thing happening.

Reminds me of that SB team in 2008. Our WR's were: Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Nate Washington, Limas Sweed, Dallas Baker.

Moncrief deserved to be released because of his lack of production. However, I really don't like this loophole or whatever it is with comp picks. Once players sign with a team, it shouldn't matter how may games they play in the mysterious comp pick formula. It seems like quite a few teams are manipulating the system. I wonder if this will be changed in the next CBA.

Many of us expected a serviceable #2, can't blame the FO for injuries on a previously healthy player

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I'm shocked it turned out this bad. **** the FO has eaten a lot of **** in the last couple years. Just choking on reasonably big FA contracts. Bostic, Burnett now Mongrief. Then the monster of AB. Just brutal. Isn't this the second WR felled in the last several years by finger injuries.

Bostic was cheap, it didn't hurt. Burnett, Moncrief on the other hand have been brutal, Barron is on the same path. But in general when you account for Haden, Nelson, McDonald (even if often injured the guy is a titan) , now Minkah too we are on the winning side I think
