25 Kendall Fuller* CB Virginia Tech 5' 11" 195
DraftSite's comments: Fuller sneaks back into the first round if he can convince teams he has a clean bill of health and not an injury liability. Coming into the season Fuller was our #3 overall prospect, the talent is there for Pittsburgh to finally take a corner in the opening round.

58 Pittsburgh Tyler Boyd* WR Pittsburgh 6' 2" 190

89 Christian Westerman OG Arizona State 6' 3" 310

123 Parker Ehinger OG Cincinnati 6' 5" 320

217 Devin Fuller WR UCLA 6' 0" 200

226 Steve Scheu TE Vanderbilt 6' 5" 245

243 Elijah Shumate SS Notre Dame 6' 0" 220

We just re-signed Foster and with DeCastro up next, picking a backup guard in round 3 is a bit of a luxury pick. Then you pick another guard in round 4. Sorry Supe. Not a fan of this.

I like Fuller.

Boyd in round two? Nah we have Coates and a reliable DHB as back ups. Wheaton can be decent as the starter. Brown is simply amazing.

1-Billings DT
2-Cash S
3-Clark OT
4-Miller CB
6-Fanaika DE
7a-Allen QB
7b-BPA

25- DE Shaq Lawson
Easy choice here as he shouldn't even be there (others considered: DT Andrew Billings, CB- Mackenzie Alexander, DT- Vernon Butler)

58- S Darian Thompson
Another player that probably shouldn't be there for this pick, this choice was harder to make but not too hard (others considered- OT Jason Spriggs, S Tyvis Powell, LB Sua Cravens, OT Germain Ifedi, S/CB Jalen Mills, WR Sterling Shepherd)

89- DT Javon Hargrave
Much DLine depth, and can rotate all across the front (others considered- OG Chris Westerman, OT Willie Beavers, DT Chris Jones, DT Hassan Ridgeway, OT Kyle Murphy)

123- CB Harlan Miller
Not the first CB I would have liked to have taken, but that's the way the board fell, plus I like Harlan so it's nice that he's still available in the 4th

217- DE Ronald Blair

226- WR Malcolm Mitchell

243- TE David Morgan II

Some key UDFA
DT- Matt Ioannidis Temple
CB- Tavon Young Temple
QB- Vernon Adams Jr.

also don't see the Texans going RB in Round 1 and QB in Round 2 after the free agent signings last week

Would not be happy with the draft as-is. 2 WR, 2 OG and a TE are unnecessary when we have pressing needs elsewhere. We also need a safety earlier than the 7th.

1. Mackenzie Alexander CB
2. Austin Johnson DT
3. Miles Killebrew SS
4. Sebastian Tretola OG
6. Ronald Blair DE/OLB
7a. Cayleb Jones WR
7b. Jordan Swindle OT

I was torn between Shaq Lawson and Alexander round 1. Lawson is BPA so it was a tough choice. Definitely would've grabbed Austin Johnson in the 3rd but he went 1 pick before.

The value in this draft is early-mid 2nd round. I don't think there's much of a difference in talent between end of the first and mid 2nd. Would be nice to be able to trade back and pick up a couple extra picks in the 2nd to grab a couple needs and not have to pick just 1.

As much as I like Alexander there was just no way I could pass on Lawson

1. Mackensie Alexander CB

3. Javon Hargrave NT
4. Connor McGovern OG
6. Johnathan Jones CB
7. Reggie Gilbert OLB
7b. AJ Zuttah DL

1 ) CB William Jackson. It's an open secret our DB's are a mix of short, slow and unproven. If Gay leaves in free agency, the unit goes from very bad to perhaps the worst since the AFL / NFL merger. Jackson is a flat out player maker type, with some height and great speed ( 4.39 unofficial time ) as I type.

2 ) NT/DT Butler. Butler killed it at the senior bowl. He adds value as a playmaking DT vs the run or pass. A hard to block dispute type who can make plays in the backfield and has better range than your traditional NT. With the amount of nickel and dime the Stellers play., Butler will be playing a lot once he learns the system.

3 ) S Houston-Carson. A former corner, Carson combines good length and quick change of direction ability. Very productive. The level of competition is a question mark, but Tomlin might overlook that as he's a William and Mary guy.

4 ) G Graham Glasgow. Guard have great value later in the draft. Glasgow can play Center or guard equally well. We need a versatile player for the interior.

Picks 5 & 6 already spent :(

6th round comp pick: ILB Rhodes. Good speed, and productivity. Rhodes is a two-time first-team all-conference selection and a three-time all-league honoree. During the past two seasons, the Hollidaysburg, Pa., native has totaled 191 tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 15 PBU. An outstanding leader, Rhodes is a two-time team captain, which makes him just the 11th player to earn the honor multiple times in the program’s 122-year history. - William & Mary football

7 ) QB Driskel. A highly rated prospect, Driskel had some injury issues a confidence issues at Florida. He transferred to Lousiana Tech and had a very good season. Driskel needs good coaching, but with some patience, you could have something, He had a very good combine, and is likely gone by round seven, but hey this is my mock so I'm taking the liberty of getting lucky late. Landry Jones is not a short term or long term answer for back up.

7 ) P. Hacket. Two-time Ray -guy award winner. He forces a lot of fair catches, can kick for distance, and can drop 'em inside the 20. An upgrade over Berry.

#25 Mackensie Alexander CB Clemson
Fills a need and BPA at this point.

#58 Jason Springs OT Indiana
No way this dancing bear lasts this long. I feel he will be gone late 1st at the very worst. I know we just signed Harris but this pick can learn behind him and we can dump Mike Adams.

#89 Miles Killebrew SS Southern Utah
Might not be the fastest guy but he hits like a truck.

#123 Hassan Ridgeway DT Texas
Maybe a little lightening to go with McCullers thunder.

#217 Jatavis Brown LB/S Akron
I don't know where to play him but I want him on my team. Dude flat out flies and I feel could be scheme diverse enough to play OLB, ILB, or S depending on the situation.

#226 Stephen Weatherly OLB Vanderbilt
One of the most cerebral players in this draft. On top of that one of the best athletes. He ran a 4.61 forty at 267lbs. I have him drop down to the mid 250's and have him learn from James Harrison for a season.

#243 Dan Vitale HB Northerwestern
I think Nix can take over the FB duties and Vitale can do a little bit of everything else.

I could be missing something here but from what I see in this mock, William Jackson is taken 13th overall prior to our 1st pick and Butler is taken 43rd overall prior to our 2nd round pick. How are you coming up with drafting both of those players?

dude. don't question Coach. he lives in a sub-reality.

first round was just updated ---

25 Eli Apple** CB Ohio State 6' 0" 205

1. Mackensie Alexander CB
2. Su'a Cravens SS
3. Javon Hargrave NT
4. Connor McGovern OG
6. Johnathan Jones CB
7. Reggie Gilbert OLB
7b. AJ Zuttah DL

Cravens is one of the hardest players for me to mock. The kid has talent, no doubt. But is he a SS or and OLB? I read somewhere that he was coming out as a LB. So which is it? And how would his performance be affected by the position changes?

I was wondering about

Didn't Gay just sign a contract?

I had read the same thing. He wants to play OLB. Something about a tough time keeping enough weight off to play S.

I think they updated their picks, thus changing what others had already mocked. Hard to mock an ever changing mock, lol.

You are missing something. Some mocks have Jackson taken after our pick. This is a very deep DT draft. You can get someone good later in round two. If Butler is gone I'll take Nassib for the pass rush.

I don't think everyone understands the "rules" for mocking a mock. nitsuj was just pointing out that the original mock had Jackson off the board before our pick, thus making it impossible to choose him in a "mock the mock" scenario.

Lol good God... please help us.
