If the season was to end today we would pick 20 now I can’t find a site where you can do trades without a subscription so I used off for a 3 rnd.
What I would do is use 2 of our rnd 3 picks plus pick 20 move up 10 spots if there is a chance Dante Moore gets by the raiders. I think nyg will move dawn and the jets will trade up for Mendoza.
We could hope that lemon drops to us at 20 or later depending on on the last 4 games
Based on off I did this
20 Denzel Boston big wr could be a solid passion wr that could draw attention off dk and perhaps be a burress type wr 6”4 210 reported 4.5
52 cb Chris Johnson cb sd state saw he lined up DLL over so if we resign Samuel him Pierre Samuel can battle to start.
79 lt carter smith Indiana 0 sacks allowed big body and with the recent ir injury to jones who has had a up and down year smith could push and if jones doesn’t play well your next lt
84 not satisfied with the depth we have on the d line the guys filling in for Harmon are career back ups dt/de Jackson jr fsu massive frame, should help when cam comes for rest or Benton does. Loudermilk is a career back up, Lee don’t see making it so Jackson jr could join black as the top rotating dl.
98 s Wheatley psu/rod moore um versaTile s that can play vs the run or be in coverage

I think they will trade up for a QB. But if Mendoza and Moore are off the board and not a possibility they probably would stand pat and draft as you suggested a WR. DE andCB would strongly be in play as well.

While I haven't been paying much attention, I don't see a QB in this draft worth trading up for.
I think Moore has some possibilities. Ditto Mendoza but he is probably out of their range that they would be willing to attack..

I can never get enough mock drafts.

PFF Mock Draft Simulator

1.20 Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
It's going to take a lot for me to move off either Tate or Lemon in the first round.

2.52 Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon
The Steelers have some pieces at safety with Elliott, Ramsey, and Dugger. I also don't know how many of these guys will be on the team next year, so the Steelers will try to get a young prospect to step in.

3.79 C.J. Fite, IDL, Arizona State
A strong run defender to add to a rebuilt defensive line.

3.84 Charles Jagusah, G, Notre Dame
At 6'7" he's tall for a guard, but he has the thing the Steelers love with players--position versatility. He's played both guard and tackle and has a high upside from everything I've read.

3.98 Drew Allar, QB, Penn State
QB wasn't a spot I was looking at in this mock, but thought why not for the first one of the year. When it comes to QB, there aren't many options early on--this class is underwhelming and as I expected, failed to live up to the hype. Moore and Mendoza will be top-5 picks (if Moore enters the draft). I have no interest in Simpson, Nussmeier, Beck, or Klubnik. A lot of the other QBs will return to school.

Drew Allar is the anti-clutch QB, I haven't seen the mental toughness from him in crunch time. However, Allar has the tools, something our last 1st-round QB didn't have. He demonstrated improvement throughout his career as well. If the Steelers go QB in this draft, I want arm talent and Allar at least has that.

CJ probably doesn’t have RAS available so I would say that would be an element they would look into as they like their linemen athletic.

I think two of the three Ss will be back so I am thinking they will go G, WR,CB and DE if they don’t see a QB early they like…or can reach.

Of course free agency could take some of these needs off the table…

I wanted to go CB, but they were a reach. Guard is tempting, my thought is they can find a solid mid-tier starter in free agency or in the middle rounds of the draft.

DL early wouldn't surprise me. After taking Jones in the first, the Steelers took three OL the next season. Harmon, Benton, Black and one more piece along the DL would go a long way.

I'd be very tempted to double down at WR. Build an offense around a QB.

A lot of rumors about veteran QBs that could be on the move. Murray is out there. There seems to be some talk about Hurts now. Maybe the Steelers can keep Burrow out of retirement and acquire him from the Bengals ;)

need to go trenches at least 2 more drafts early. depends on who the best one's at our pick def or off

Anyone think Aller will be better than Howard, if QB need a different type not just a jocket but more of a rpo guy if you dont give all rnd 3 picks and rnd 1 to move up for Mendoza, could throw Muth in deal, could attract a trade with nyg

Steelers have no hope of trading with the Giants (or any team that is in Mendoza range). Jets have two first round picks that will both be higher than the Steelers first rounder (I'm expecting Steelers to take the AFC North and Indy to go 0-4 or 1-3 the rest of the season) and are in the quarterback market - no way three third rounders (one being a compensation pick) plus Muth will make up the difference. Also, if Steelers trade Muth who would Mendoza have to throw to?

Indy probably will resign Jones.

I agree with trading that far up, very unlikely.

I wouldn’t think Muth would be a piece that would attract teams in a trade.

If they want to get that high they probably would have to throw out TJ… obviously an unrealistic scenario.
