Mike Tomlin Press Conference 12pm Today

I don't care what happened between AB and Ben or what his feelings are on Tomlin...failing to show up and communicate with the team is not how grownups handle it. Tomlin did the right thing benching him. I think Tomlin needs to go for a variety of reasons but I think he handled this particular situation as best he could.

Problem is what got them to this point. Not that he handled it incorrectly....

yet.

Remember the punishment hasn't been handed out

yet.

We still have to see how Tomlin handles it.

Some of yinz are jumping the gun a little with the extreme stance. A lot of assuming trying to take the hardest stance for missing a walk thru.

If Tomlin can't handle it, you replace him.

Not sure why people are making this harder than it has to be. Nothing a 2 game suspension and a outline what is after that won't solve.

Because there is a cancer in the lockeroom that is killing any chance of success for the future. A group of selfish me first players who don't give a **** about team success. One is already gone thankfully.

I agree in part that everyone is jumping to conclusions. Myself included but I’m just tired of the drama and the self inflicted negativity that surrounds this team. I do not believe a 2 game suspension and outline of what happens afterwards will solve the Brown situation. The guy is selfish and has shown that he’s not willing to accept any blame. Bringing him back IMO will only affect this team similar to the Bell situation.

And how you handle it is suspend him and outline after 2 it will be 4 etc plus fines. Then he realizes there is no more wrist slaps. Because to this point that is what ******* has taken place.
A soft *** approach to discipline..

I think has mentally turned into Bell. He's not magically going to turn back into a model teammate. What's his motivation? Even if he does, why would anyone in the locker room trust him again? He'll sit out a year like Bell if things don't go his way and get moved.

I could be wrong but I think he is gone..He made his coach, the owner and the organization look bad, Really bad. Plus he likely pissed off most of his teammates, many of whom probably want nothing more to do with him.

Lot of conjecture I don't know.....

I think it isn't too late to take a hard line stance with him. Doesn't hurt to give it a shot.

idk, Bell did the same thing, but they still wanted him here. They reached out to him at the last hour, so I think an apology and serve his punishment could smooth this over. It's up to AB, though.

AB already was punished. He was benched on Sunday.

Now it's up to him to get his head out of his own ***. The Steelers are locked to him next year, financially.

Might not but I'm not looking at it from a disciplinarian standpoint, I'm looking at it from a bad employee standpoint. He quit on his team and that's just not acceptable. Maybe he did have some sort of breakdown that nobody or not many are aware of and if that's the case then if he were to voluntarily and publicly apologize and seeks some sort of therapy then yes go the discipline route. In this case I think it is just a very selfish person having a tantrum and trying to get on a new team with a new contract.

He's AWOL more than 3 days...

Thats termination in my world..

But then again...I dont live in ABs world.,

That wasn't a real punishment, that was more of a consequence. Tomlin was acting like it was still being examined, so with that to me that means it isn't a finished result.

He was excused before the walk thru and not allowed to play Sunday. So how do you figure 3 days?

Maybe Tomlin invites AB to his house to eat his famous fish jambalaya and all things get solved. AB just have to remember to take flowers for his coach

I can blame Tomlin for a lot but not for the way he handled AB the past week. AB acted like a spoiled brat, Tomlin called him on his **** and sat his *** down in what could have been an important game. All the while he contained the situation from being a media circus. The ball is now in ABs court to man up and accept responsibility . Harrison should just **** off and keep his personal vendetta out of this. If he has an axe to grind he should do it without involving current players.

I'm not a Tomlin fan by any stretch but whoever is coaching the team next season and onward does not need former players interfering with the locker room.

A full season of stats was logged.

1 game sitout?

that is nothing.

Fine him and suspend him two games for starters. With conduct detrimental to the team. The next will be four. the next 6, the next 8. Without pay.

You are messing with his stats and money, with a guy who is all about both. I am sure this would be a effective approach..
