The Steelers lose offensive line coach Mike Munchak to the Denver Broncos today. Munchak will assume the same position for Denver in a lateral move that makes little sense to Steelers fans. There wasn’t any comments from the Steelers organization about whether they wanted to retain Munchak with his contract expiring after the 2018 season. […]

Nope, that makes a ton of sense to me! He doesn't want to deal with Tomlin's crap either...

I think I speak for all of us when I say, well ****.

This sucks. Hopefully Sarrett learning under Munchak will be able to carry over. Personally outside of his family being there not sure why he would want to go there considering he was interviewing for the job that somebody else got and will be your boss now.

He's probably tired of the circus that the team and locker room has become. Shame that it has gotten to this point for a once proud organization.

Steelers are the laughingstock of the league, I cant blame him either

The standard is the standard

Maybe the Steeler mgmt didn't want to feel obligated to Munchak as the heir-apparent to Tomlin. If that had anything to do with it, I understand it.

Sarrett named OL coach, per Lolley....Just a guess, I think Munchak knew that his becoming the Steelers' head coach was a longshot, at best. Steelers would probably go for a new HC well under 60... Don't know about how Fangio will work out. But I wouldn't trust Elway for a second.

Everything I need to know about the Steelers right now. Far and away best coach on the staff. Uprooted his family to move across the country to get away from this **** show. Congratulations Art II. You and your Rooney Rule Coach have completely ****** this team up. How long do we have to put up with this bullshit. Never thought I'd hear myself say this but I hope they sell the team.

Speaks volumes as to the cancerous culture and circus side show the Steelers have become under Tomlin.

Still love looking back about 5yrs ago when saying Tomlin wasn't a good coach got you called a racist......

Now it's pretty much the prevailing sentiment and those of us with some football foresight and lack of black and gold colored sunglasses are in actuality just smart.

Any other owner with a head coach that let things deteriorate to the point where the whole country is laughing at them would have shitcanned him a minute after failing to make the playoffs.

The Steelers are a national disgrace, an embarrassment of riches wasted by incompetent coaching

A billion dollar team run by bush league staff.

Broncos paid far and above their normal slotted pay for an OL Coach to get Munchak. 9 sports out of Denver reports the move was fueled by being closer to his daughter and grandkid. Plus the Broncos threw the bank at him. Has nothing to do with this culture BS that most are already saying in this post.

Sarrett was the defacto OL coach in 2013 for the last half of the season and turned things around. He will be a great OL Coach. Losing Munch sucks, but this is far from the end of the world. The Steelers fixed the OL by drafting studs and paying them big money. They employeed Sean Mahan and Todd Fordham before Munchak. Hence why they sucked so bad.

I'm guessing Munchak wanted to be close to his daughter and granddaughter. He passed up a second interview with Arizona last year and declined other opportunities this year. Not often a guy gets turned down for a HC job and then accepts a position coach position unless they really want to be there. Makes sense why Denver hired Fangio knowing they could probably get him AND Munchak.

UNPOSSIBLE. It HAS to be because of Tomlin.

And I just got done watching Sunday Sports Showdown from last night. And Ron Cook did an article on Mike back in Nov.Mike said that his daughter had a kid sometime during the offseason last year. and his wife has been pretty much been living in Denver. so Mike was going back an forth to Denver. I don't know for sure if his wife was home during the season or not.but I was under the impression she was in Denver most of the season. Good Luck to you Mike!

I realize games are played one at a time and I'll most likely be watching each weekend this coming fall. But damn, I just can't see this team getting any better, and no sign that the front office gives a ****.

If he left over money that's even worse. Rooney should know how valuable he is and match/beat any contract. Remember how terrible the line was before Munciak??

And best of all, the FO has no intention of "turning over stones" to try to find a decent replacement. They'll just promote the guy who's held Munch's clipboard for the last 4 years. Cause THAT always translates to success.
