Midseason review Rashaan Evans vs Leighton Vander Esch

You just been informed three times the trade up known and acknowledged was for Evans. Titans picked him at 22 before the Steelers could get find a willing partner.

Until you show us a link where LVE was a target for the move up, it’s hearsay on your part. So stop trying to make us believe it happened. It didn’t.

Smith is who they wanted, but they knew he was unattainable. Tench and Labriola talked about it after the draft.

If coach talks about it enough his wish will come true.

Wait for it.

He was the guy I wanted in round one. Colbert tried to trade up, but I never saw his offer.

Once he was off the board I really liked Reid in round one. He looks excellent as rookie.
you gotta be kidding me. you didn't see his offer?
colbert called ark's house. the conversation went to speaker so ark, myself and ogre could give him advice. he said he was calling you next.

The Steeler tried to trade up for Evans. We know that fact.

Show me facts the Steeler did not attemptto make a call to trade up for Vander Esch. I believe they did, and you cannot prove they did not. Colbert who is usually very tight lipped said The Steelers have already started “doing their draft due diligence” on Boise Statelinebacker LeightonVander Esch,

I have become a fan of coach Brian Billick, the media person. For openershe doesn't think his super bowl winning team would be championtoday. The guy has high integrity.

During a call in for WQAM radio, he fielded questions before the draft a fewyears ago. One caller asked, if you want a certain position, how often doyou call and try to trade up for it in round one. Billick reply to paraphrase
what he said, we tried to trade up often, butthe cost was just too high. Why would other teams be different?

Would you trade Edwards and Washington now for Vander Esch?

But did they talk about Reid? Seriously, that's what we all want to know. Where a 3rd rounder went in the draft...

Conner was a third round pick. So was Hines Ward, and Joey Porter off the top of my head.

Justin Reid looks excellent as a rookie. His 2 interceptions, and 5 passes defended out preforms any safety we have on the roster . Only a starter for 5 games, 49 tackles ( 40 are solo ) is good production/

Fast, and fluid, he's a true coverage type of safety, which is exactly what we need. I'm not saying Edmunds is a bust, I did mock him for us...just not in round one.

Steelers did their due diligence on a lot of players. Some was for want some was for smokescreen.

Hard to keep things secret now a days. If they wanted to trade up for Vander, you would have heard about it. But you go ahead and ignore their usual round one formula for not picking small school prospects.

You want someone to show you that they didn't try to trade up for him? lulz

Coach likes someone the Steelers must have wanted to trade up for him. Prove him wrong if you don't believe it !

Jane you ignorant slut.

Bull crap. The media only catches just a few of the trade ups that does not happen. If your trying to disprove something the onus is on you.

Its hard to keep a secret these days? Like Bell not reporting, who'd believe that 10 weeks ago?

Use logic, or pay attention to what Billick said.

That doesn't apply to a general opinion. If you shoot something out of your *** and are trying to sell it as M&Ms.

Your ****** opinion has to be backed up by some sort of proof, to be something more than a ****** opinion.

Otherwise we would be selling off a lot of **** as true.

Sorry you don't get to pass bullshit off without proving it.

i have it on no authority at all that the Steelers tried to trade ben, conner, durpee and hunter to the raiders before the draft so we could select saquon barkley.

am i wrong? prove me wrong. show me where - before the draft - that colbert and/or tomlin specifically refuted this.

I have it in my personal notes that they tried to give up two first round picks and Bell for Barkley, but the deal fell through because coach didn't wish it true. But looking @ what I just wrote down, they will be trading Bell soon anyways.

Van Eshe with him we could of operated more similar to when Ryan was starting, as for Evans he is just a younger raw version of Bostic who has came in and played his tail off the test will be vs that physical jags OL and Fornette if this time we can stop them. Next week the 2-4-5 will have to me minimized in favor of the 3-2-6, you will need big Dan to dress as well vs a run heavy team, should see a mix up tuitt hargrave/Tyson/Dan Heyward as the DL in the 3-2-6 with Villiams and Bostic with Watt as a hybrid and Edmunds and Davis as a 8th man.

You prove that that they did genius........Clueless to no end.

Colbert who is usually very tight lipped said The Steelers have already started “doing their draft due diligence” on Boise Statelinebacker LeightonVander Esch,

Colbert is diligent on all players. But where does it state they attempted to trade up go get LVE? Just more BS for you to feel noted.

Distract and deflect from your narrative. Doesn't have reference to this situation.

Would you trade Edwards and Washington now for Vander Esch?

Uh....No.

I think to get Van eshe it would of costed 3 picks 1 3rd maybe next years 3rd and this years 7th

Hypothetical comparisons between players drafted before us. The better review would be to analyze players drafted AFTER we selected because those are players we actually could have drafted instead of this pipe dream

oh, goddammit. now you're going to unleash a flurry of cooch posts.

You can argue facts of those which are reported.

Creating hypotheticals, then forcing opponents to prove it wrong, is not an argument in facts. It's a lesson in politics.

I was not a fan of Evans on film. I saw a decent player who greatly benefitted from being protected on a loaded defense. He got to be clean most plays and just run and make tackles. I think he’s bad in open space. I saw lots of plays where the back made him miss one on one.

LVE on the other hand is a tremendous athlete, but he’s raw. Watch his college film and you see he has instincts but was still learning the position. What you also saw were some tremendous plays where he flashed that athleticism.

He is becoming a beast for the cowboys. That play where he was at MLB and he sniffed out the screen pass in the flat, beat 2 blockers, and made an open field tackle for loss was spectacular.

I was really glad they didn’t draft Evans. I think it would have been a Troy Edwards situation where they got scared by need and left better players on the board.

Darius Leonard had 7 tackles, a sack and an Int today, so maybe the best linebacker was still available.
